<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Texas ;father-of-five was shot dead on Friday after he confronted the parents of a teenage boy who had been cyberbullying his 15-year-old daughter on social media, according to his heartbroken family. ;<br>Brandon Curtis, 35, was shot multiple times in the 10900 block of Spring Brook Pass of the Humble area, according to a statement from the Harris County Sheriff&#8217;s Office. ; ;<br> Curtis, a commercial truck driver, was found shot in the street and succumbed to his injuries at the scene, police said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">His wife, Shantal Harris, said that her husband had gone over to the boy&#8217;s home because their daughter had been bullied by the same teen for the last nine months. ;<br>She claims the bully would send her daughter messages saying &#8216;I&#8217;m gonna beat you up&#8217; and &#8216;ho I&#8217;m gonna get you&#8217;, and also posts ridiculing her parents. ;<br>She says that Curtis went to the boy&#8217;s house to speak with the alleged bully&#8217;s parents to try and resolve the situation. ;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While the deceased man&#8217;s wife claims that her husband was killed after he&#8217;d gone over to the alleged bully&#8217;s home to sort out the ongoing nine-month long harrasment of their daughter by the same teen the Harris.<br>However, Curtis never came home. Once outside the teen&#8217;s house, the confrontation turned violent. <br>Investigators said a 20-year-old man told them Curtis hit his teen brother. County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez however, ; said the fatal shooting occurred when Curtis allegedly took his daughter over to the boy&#8217;s home to fight other teens.<br>The sheriff&#8217;s conclusion has infuriated Shantal Harris: &#8216;I don&#8217;t feel like it&#8217;s right to let that come out like that. I&#8217;m angry. I&#8217;m angry about it,&#8217; Harris told ;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://abc13.com/brandon-curtis-houston-social-media-beef-shooting-students-killed-dad-humble/10016392/">ABC 13</a>. <br>&#8216;I know my husband. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Her sister-in-law, Jeran Perkins, also disputed the claim, saying: &#8216;My brother would never put a hand on a child. We want justice.&#8217;<br>Her husband spoke with the boy&#8217;s father about the bullying, and on Friday Curtis, her daughter and son went to speak to the family again: &#8216;When he left from here, my husband went to go resolve the issue. <br>He wanted to go speak to the parent,&#8217; Harris told the news station. ;<br>However, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the fatal shooting occurred when he allegedly took his daughter over to the boy&#8217;s home to fight other teens.<br>According to authorities, a 20-year-old man told them Curtis hit his teen brother outside their home. ;<br>That&#8217;s when the man went to get a gun to protect his brother and shot Curtis, authorities said. ; ; ;<br></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>After the shooting, Harris said her daughter received another message that read: ;&#8216;We ;all had a fight and killed dey (sic) daddy.&#8217;<br>&#8216;For them to claim self- defense, it&#8217;s sickening,&#8217; Harris, said.<br>Authorities have not charged the man with Curtis&#8217; death. The sheriff&#8217;s office will be referring the case to a Harris County grand jury. ;</p>
