A pregnant mother from Alabama has been shot dead by her boyfriend in a suspected murder-suicide, but thanks to the quick actions of paramedics, the woman’s unborn baby was saved.
Police in Scottsboro received a 911 call at 6.15am on Wednesday about a suspicious vehicle stopped in the roadway at Maple Street and North Houston Street.
Officers who responded to the scene discovered a man and a woman dead inside the car from gunshot wounds. The pair were identified as Amber Michelle Coffman, 35, and Owen Deanglo Williamson, 33, both of Hollywood, Alabama.

The female victim, identified as 35-year-old mother-of-three Amber Coffman, was eight months pregnant with her fourth child.
Paramedics who were called to the scene rushed Coffman to Highlands Medical Center and performed CPR on her in the ambulance to maintain blood flow and oxygen levels in an effort to keep her fetus alive, reported Al.com.
The child, a boy, was born weighing 4lbs and was transferred to Huntsville Hospital for further care. He was listed in critical condition on Friday.
Scottsboro police investigators say they believe Coffman’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Owen Williamson, shot her before turning the gun on himself.

Paramedics and doctors were able to save Coffman’s unborn son, who was born weighing just 4lbs.
The case is being investigated as a murder-suicide, but the motive remains unknown.
Just two days before the tragedy, Williamson posted a status update mourning the death of his aunt.
A day prior, he shared a video on his Facebook page, showing him brandishing a handgun inside his car while singing along to a rap song.
Coffman’s final Facebook post dated February 9 read: ‘Without questions … please pray for our family.’

Coffman and Williamsons had been together since 2018, according to social media posts. In addition to her week old baby, Coffman is survived by her three other children, the eldest being 13 years old.
