Florida based veterinarian, Prentiss Madden pled guilty Tuesday to charges of child abuse, child porn and bestiality

Accused of for sexual deviant behavior, Madden was arrested for ‘sexually abusing dogs in his care and possessing trove of 1,600 bestiality and child porn photos and videos

Madden, 40, admitted to sexually abusing dogs in his care, possession of more than 1,600 files of child porn and making ‘crush videos’ where he tortured and trampled small animals to death

Madden also admitted his preference for underage people and a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy in Orlando

Among the charges is one count of producing ‘crush videos,’ in which animals are stepped on or trampled for human sexual gratification

Madden who was the medical director of the Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Miami, was first arrested by federal agents in Miami in March

Investigators were tipped off last year after the file-sharing service, Dropbox, alerted them to a user who had uploaded 1,600 files of suspected child porn and animal abuse

The files were accessed multiple times by an IP address and traced to Madden’s home and the animal hospital where he worked

Authorities say they found multiple files in which Madden discussed ‘the sexual abuse of animals and children’ and shared numerous videos and images

Digital codes of some abuse images indicated they were taken at his home, while at least one was taken at the animal hospital

A Florida veterinarian faces up to 87 years in prison after pleading guilty to abusing dogs at his animal clinic and to possessing a trove of child porn in federal court Thursday.
Prentiss Madden, 40, the medical director at Caring Hands Animal Hospital in the Miami suburb of Aventura until he was fired two weeks before his arrest in March, also pled guilty to one count of creation of ‘crush videos’. In the sick fetish, practitioners record videos of animals being trampled, stepped on or smashed to death for sexual gratification.
The criminal complaint unsealed on Thursday, in addition to depicting Madden’s preference for underage people and a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy in Orlando, revealed how he described abusing dogs with sex toys, his hands, and his penis, according to Vice. 
It describes in stark detail online exchanges between Madden and unidentified third parties, in which Madden admitted to and shared photos and videos of himself performing sexual acts on dogs.
One of the videos was filmed at Caring Hands.
The US Attorney’s Office hasn’t released any images from Madden’s devices, according to the Miami New Times, leaving former clients in the dark over whether their pets have been abused.
‘I thought he was great,’ pet owner Scott Pruch told the Broward-Palm Beach New Times.
‘At first, we thought no dogs were ever harmed there. Then we find out it’s a lot worse than we thought.’

Investigators were tipped off last year after Dropbox alerted them to a user who had uploaded 1,600 files of suspected child pornography and animal abuse.
Pruch said he referred multiple friends to the clinic and to Madden in particular. 
The complaint against Madden included a May 2019 text exchange in which Madden told another person that a brown-and-white dog he was performing sexual acts on was one he was keeping because it ‘needed a home.’
‘What made me pissed off is there’s a good chance it might have been Pamela – she fit the description,’ Pruch said, referring to his brown-and-white Shih Tzu named Pamela Anderson. The US Attorney’s Office later confirmed that the dog in the photo with Madden was not a Shih Tzu.
Madden also admitted to accessing child porn, receiving the images via social media chats and producing and sharing videos of himself engaged in sexual activity with dogs, according to the Department of Justice.
He also pled guilty to three counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

When agents carried out a raid on Madden’s home on February 24, he allegedly admitted to owning the Dropbox account.
Authorities say they found multiple files of social media chats in which Madden discussed ‘the sexual abuse of animals and children’ and shared numerous videos and images with unidentified individuals. 
The complaint alleges that Madden also had multiple photos and videos of images ‘depicting bestiality.’.
Some of the animal abuse images were digitally coded as having been taken at his home, according to the complaint. Another explicit video was traced as having been taken at the animal hospital in May 2018. 
‘This leads me to believe that Madden may be abusing animals entrusted to his care,’ FBI agent Leah Ortiz wrote in the complaint.
His profile on the Caring Hands Animal Hospital website was removed in the wake of his arrest. 

Madden was previously beloved by pet owners, and is named in multiple five-star Yelp reviews for the animal hospital Caring Hands.
At the time of his March arrest, clients were shocked to hear that he’d been charged.
Now that the details of the abuse are public, some pet owners who went to Caring Hands are trying to figure out if their pets were among the abused.
Obfuscating the true scope of the animal abuse is the fact that Caring Hands Like many animal hospitals, had a Covid-19 safety policy that only staff were allowed inside the building, and owners had to drop off pets at the door.
“That’s the most disgusting thing. Nobody knows what happened in there,” pet owner Gina Silvestri, who has a service dog that was a patient of Madden’s, told the South Florida New Times. “It’s horrifying.”
Madden, a native of north Alabama, described himself in the now-deleted profile as the ‘proud pet parent’ of a Shih Tzu named Lucky and two Burmese pythons named, Mocha and Sherbert. 
He attended the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. 
The hospital issued a statement after his arrest calling Madden’s alleged crimes ‘heinous and unthinkable.
‘Our legal team, and every single member of the Caring Hands family will be doing everything in our power to aid law enforcement and facilitate their investigation and prosecution,’ the hospital’s statement said. 
Madden’s charges fall under a federal law outlawing animal abuse, which was initially created in response to a genre of cruelty in which people record the harming of animals for the sexual gratification of viewers.
The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump in 2019, makes the production of torture videos punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Madden is being held at Miami’s Federal Detention Center.
