Sherry Heffernan, 55, faces two murder counts and two weapons counts for allegedly stabbing to death her father, John Enders, 87, and the man’s girlfriend, Francoise Pitoy, 75

A Pennsylvania realtor charged last week with stabbing and beating to death her octogenarian father and his girlfriend at his waterfront New Jersey Shore home has claimed that she is being ‘framed.’
Sherry Lee Heffernan of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, is charged with two counts of murder and related weapons violations in the deaths of her father, John Enders, 87, and his girlfriend Francoise Pitoy, 75, of Manchester.
Heffernan was arrested on October 4 in Landenberg, in southeastern Pennsylvania just north of the Maryland state line. The 55-year-old faces two murder counts and two weapons counts and is to be extradited, Prosecutors in Ocean County, New Jersey, said.
The bodies of John Enders and Francoise Pitoy were discovered on October 3 at his home in Surf City. Police said both had suffered stab wounds. Enders police said, also was suffered blunt force trauma.
The deceased man’s daughter who is the prime suspect in the double-homicide, appeared before a Chester County judge on Friday and agreed to waive her rights regarding extradition, the Daily Local News of West Chester reported.
She would have voluntarily surrendered herself in New Jersey ‘if I had known I was wanted for something,’ she said.
As she was led from the courtroom in handcuffs and shackles after the brief hearing, a reporter asked if she wanted to say anything about the charges against her. ‘Not guilty,’ she said. ‘I’m being framed.’
Heffernan did not explain whom she suspects of framing her, or why.
New Jersey authorities allege that Heffernan was upset with her father because she had been cut out of his will. Additionally, Enders would not let his daughter broker the sell of his $1.9million home.
Investigators claimed that she traveled to the home on Long Beach Island in her Winnebago recreational vehicle the night of September 29.
The bodies were found after Pitoy’s daughter, Valerie Lewis-Evans, alerted police after not hearing from her mother for more than a week and was worried.
Before she’s returned to New Jersey, the suspect has history with law enforcement. – On Oct. 4, police went to Heffernan’s home in Chester County, Pennsylvania, outside Wilmington, Delaware and arrested her that evening on an unrelated warrant to the murder allegations. Arresting officers saw a Winnebago similar to the alleged murder’s vehicle was at the house.
She will face charges related to retail theft and receiving stolen property in neighboring Montgomery County since failing to appear for hearings following an October 2019 arrest. She also has pled guilty to a September 2019 traffic violation.

Francoise Pitoy[photo], was stabbed multiple times alongside her boyfriend, John Enders, 87, Heffernan’s father, on Sept. 29  Court records describe a grisly scene inside Enders’ house, with bloodstains in multiple places, as well as bloody footprints and shoe prints, a bloody rubber glove on the staircase, and more blood on a fence post

Ocean City police officers conducting a welfare check on the elderly couple discovered Francoise Pitoy, 75, who had been stabbed multiple times alongside her boyfriend, Enders, on the morning of September 29.
Court records obtained last week by NJ.com describe a grisly scene inside Enders’ house, with bloodstains in multiple places, as well as bloody footprints and shoe prints, a bloody rubber glove on the staircase, and more blood on a fence post.
When police arrived at the residence around 4pm on Sept 29, to perform a welfare check on the couple, requested by Pitoy’s relative, officers observed a dead male and on entry found a female victim. ‘It was readily apparent they were deceased,’ and had ‘multiple obvious stab wounds,’ a statement released by police said.
Investigators later found that Enders was the owner of the home and Pitoy, a Manchester resident, frequently stayed at the residence, the Prosecutor’s Office said
Enders also was determined to have suffered a severed carotid artery and blunt force trauma.
According to the documents, investigators interviewed a friend of Enders, who told them that the man had recently amended his living will to exclude Heffernan and her sister, from whom he was estranged.
The friend also said that Heffernan, who worked as a real estate agent, wanted to act as a broker on the sale of her father’s house, but he would not let her, leaving the woman ‘disgruntled.’
Court records alleged that on the morning of September 29, Heffernan got into her Winnebago RV and drove to her father’s house.
A neighbor’s Ring camera captured the RV near Enders’ home and a person walking towards the door before 6am.
Less than an hour later, the camera caught a person wearing oversized clothes jumping a backyard fence.

Heffernan was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police on October 4 at her home, where police found a white Winnebago RV matching the description of the vehicle spotted near Enders’ house.
A search of the RV revealed multiple red spots believed to be dried blood, according to the documents.
Heffernan’s son was interviewed by the police, saying: ‘I can’t believe she did this.’ The man allegedly said his mother was the only one who drove the RV in the last two weeks. According to the son, Heffernan made a “midnight dash,” to visit her father on Long Beach Island in the middle of the previous week.
The son reportedly said that both he and his mother blamed Pitoy for pressing Enders to sell the house because they believed the 75-year-old woman was a ‘gold digger’ who was after his money.
John Gofus, a neighbor and friend of the slain couple, told 6abc that Enders and Pitoy had been together for 19 years.
‘They were great together. She could care less what he had or what he didn’t have,’ said Gofus. ‘They were meant for each other.’
Heffernan is being held at Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania until she will be extradited to an Ocean County jail upon her return to New Jersey for her detention hearing.

Ocean County Sheriff’s Department found the pair with various stab wounds and determined Enders’ death to be from ‘multiple stab wounds with severance of the right carotid artery and blunt force trauma.’ Pitoy’s is scheduled for today

Heffernan has since been sent to Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania. It is unclear when she will be extradited to New Jersey and police disclose a motive for the murder
Enders, a construction company boss, owned the home and was in a relationship with Pitoy, who lived in Manchester, according to Surf City police and the Ocean County prosecutor’s office. Property records show that John Enders moved ownership of his six-bedroom, four-bath waterfront home from a trust status to his own name in May 2021.
