The attempt by a man to rob a business on Christmas morning in Gainesville, Georgia went askew when he slipped on a patch of ice while trying to make his get away.
Gainesville police say it was ‘like a scene from Home Alone.’
Luis Sajbocho-Ordonez, 30, allegedly hid behind the business brandishing a gun, demanding cash from an employee who exited the rear of the building early Sunday morning.
It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday behind the business on 415 Atlanta Highway.
As Sajbocho-Ordonez tried to flee the scene, only to slip on ice, sustaining serious injuries.
His injuries are being compared to Marv, a character in the movie Home Alone who famously slipped on ice while trying to break into the McCallister’s house in the 1990s Christmas classic.

On Sunday, Sajbochol-Ordonez was treated at the scene by EMS and then hauled off to the Hall County Jail where he was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Police said additional charges are possible.
Gainesville Police released more information on their Facebook page, describing the incident ‘like a scene from Home Alone.’

Police said that the attempted robbery led to a physical altercation between Sajbocho-Ordonez and the employee, who was not named.
Another employee exited the building, spooking Sajbocho-Ordonez, who fired a shot. No one was hit or injured in the incident.
As Sajbocho-Ordonez tried to make a getaway, he slipped and fell on a patch of ice and hit his head and face, police said.
Witnesses were able to get two guns away from him while he was on the ground, police added.
‘Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred and the perp went to jail,’ the Gainesville Police Department said in a Facebook post.
