<p class="wp-block-paragraph">All four slain in Saturday&#8217;s mass shooting in Alabama have been identified, as police revealed the suspect responsible is no longer at-large. Three teenagers and a young adult male were killed in the shooting.<br>The two other fatalities Marsiah Collins, 19, and Corbin Holston, 23, were identified Monday by the Tallapoosa County Coroner. <br>Earlier college bound high school football star Philstavious Dowdell, 18, and fellow senior KeKe Nicole Smith, 17, were the first two victims identified. Like Dowdell and Collins, Smith was was a senior at the local high school who was also heading to college in the fall.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The men were among around 50 guests attending the 16th birthday party for Alexis Dowdell at a dance studio in Dadeville, a small town of around 3,000 residents 85 miles southeast of Birmingham. <br>The girl&#8217;s brother Philstavious Dowdell, a star football player who was heading to Jacksonville State University, was also killed. Keke Smith, the fourth victim, was a senior at the local high school who was also heading to Alabama University in the fall. Collins was bound for Louisiana State University.<br>The rollcall of victims comes as the DJ at the party in which 28 were injured said that there was a rumor spreading among the youngsters that someone in attendance had a gun shortly before the first shots rang out. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Cops have so far not provided details of who carried out the killings or what sparked them. They have refused to confirm whether they have made an arrest.<br>However, in the latest of several pressers held by local and state cops Sunday, Sgt. Jeremy Burkett with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) provided an update that gave some clue as to what may have come of the shooter. <br>Speaking to reporters Sunday evening, Burkett confirmed the number of victims at four, while revealing many of the injured remain hospitalized in critical condition. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Despite his force now heading the investigation, the officer did not name a suspect nor confirm that cops have made an arrest &#8211; but said the person is &#8216;no longer a threat to the community,&#8217; possibly hinting the person responsible could be among the dozens hospitalized.<br>Cops would not say Monday whether the shooter was among the four killed, after local cops theorized Saturday night that the incident may have stemmed from a physical altercation. <br>A DJ who worked the party provided more insight Sunday, revealing that earlier in the night, about an hour before the initial shots were fired, rumors had been spreading among the dance floor that someone at the party had a gun.<br>&#8216;It wasn&#8217;t anything you could pretty much see because the lights were off,&#8217; DJ Keenan Cooper told local ABC affiliate station WBMA, &#8216;They mentioned someone had a gun. They stopped the party for a second, asked them to leave, nobody left and the party continued.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Roughly an hour later, the first shots rang out &#8211; sending the 50 or so people who had been in attendance into a frenzy. He said he helped teens hide under the table where he was doing his DJ set. <br>&#8216;I only tried to help who was in front of me, so I had a lot of people under the table and beside me trying to protect them. <br>&#8216;After everybody ran out, I made sure they were OK and that&#8217;s when I came out and the police arrived. I&#8217;m just distraught for the kids.&#8217;<br>Local enforcement after a preliminary investigation said shootout may have been the result of a physical altercation. The comments came news conference on Sunday evening &#8211; but did not provide a possible motive behind the shooting. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As police continue to piece together what happened Saturday night, an officer overseeing the investigation provided an update that may have provided a hint as to the fate of the suspect. <br>Cops did not provide an update Sunday on the condition of the celebrant, Dowdell&#8217;s younger sister Alexis whose birthday party was interrupted by the rage of gunfire. <br>t least 15 teenagers from the birthday party were shot and taken to Dadeville’s Lake Martin Community Hospital, spokesperson Heidi Smith said.<br>Among them, five were in critical condition, and four were in stable condition, Smith said Sunday. Those nine patients have been transferred to other medical facilities.<a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/05/health/gun-violence-more-lethal/index.html"></a><br>The remaining six patients have been treated and released, Smith said. </p>

Jeremy Burkett confirmed that there had been four fatalities, but provided little new information. Burkett, however, revealed that a total of 28 were injured, including at least 15 teenagers.<br>Despite the leads, police have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive behind the violence.<br>While Dadeville’s police chief asked for “patience” with the investigation, he and state officials urged anyone who has pictures or information from the scene to help authorities.</p>
