<p>An estimated 60 to 70 students from Bay High School in Bay St. Louis and Hancock High School in Kiln, in southern Mississippi, were celebrating at an after prom party hosted by one of their mates early Sunday morning, when a gunman opened fire, killing two teenagers and injuring four others, one of whom is in critical condition. <br>Cameron Everett Brand, 19, was identified as the shooter that fired multiple rounds after midnight on Sunday in Bay St. Louis, along the Mississippi&#8217;s coast, about 29 miles west of Biloxi, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.sunherald.com/news/local/crime/article274889696.html" target="_blank">The Biloxi Sun Herald</a> reported.<br>Video from the incident showed multiple gunshots were fired in the incident. <br>The shooter then fled the scene and allegedly returned home. According to the teenage girl who hosted the after-prom party recounts, &#8216;We were having a good time until [Brand] started shooting,&#8217; the 18-year-old said, adding he &#8216;just got in his car and left and went home&#8217; after &#8216;he shot six innocent people.&#8217;</p>

<p>Six students were shot and taken to area hospitals, one was listed in critical condition and three were in serious condition in the shooting&#8217;s immediate aftermath, officials said. <br>Two of the victims are students at Bay High School in Bay St. Louis. Four of the students attend Hancock High School in Kiln, 13 miles northwest of Bay St. Louis.<br>The fatalities have been identified as De&#8217;Arreis &#8216;DD&#8217; Smith, 18, a senior at Hancock High School, and Haeleigh Stamper, a 16-year-old female, also a student at Hancock High.</p>

<p>The house where the party was held is less than a mile from the Hollywood Casino.<br>None of the victims, all between 15 and 18 years old, had attended Bay High&#8217;s prom, which was held earlier Saturday night. Survivors were taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. <br>The suspect Cameron Brand, reportedly, had a criminal history prior to the shooting early Sunday morning. <br>His priors include carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and domestic violence by sexual assault, as well as a charge for violating a protection order<br>A witness said that the suspect came into the home and started shooting, sending the crowd scattering. Trails of blood could be seen outside the home on Sunday.</p>

<p>Police say they arrested Brand as the sole shooter at the party. It appeared the gunman had fled the scene after opening fire as officers said he was arrested at his home without incident. <br>He was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of murder. He is being held in a Mississippi jail without bail. <br>A motive has not been released and police have not said what led to the deadly encounter.<br>The Hancock County School District posted on social media after the shooting: &#8216;Our hearts are broken as we mourn the tragic loss of two Hancock High School students who were victims of the shooting in Bay St. Louis last night. <br>&#8216;Our hearts are with their families, friends, and the school staff during this incredibly difficult time.
