A UK man has today admitted murdering a father and son who were shot dead in their homes six miles apart, three months ago in Cambridgeshire, UK.. Stephen Alderton Wednesday pled guilty to two counts of murder at Cambridge Crown Court.
Joshua Dunmore, a 32-year-old builder and his dad Gary, 57, were discovered at their homes in Bluntisham and Sutton in Cambridgeshire after police were called to reports of gunfire in both areas at around 9pm on March 29.
Alderton, 66, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of possession of a firearm.
An inquest heard today how builder Joshua was killed first, while his dad was shot 37 minutes later.
The autopsy report states that Gary Dunmore died from gunshot wounds to the head and torso, while Joshua suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest, the court was told.
He denied one count of illegal possession of a firearm, a double-barrelled shotgun, with intent to cause fear of violence to another person.
That charge was left to lie on the file by prosecutors.
Alderton was remanded into custody to be sentenced on October 20.
Police discovered the bodies of the dad and son at properties in The Row, Sutton, and Meridian Close, Bluntisham.
Officers were first scrambled to Joshua’s home at around 9pm, before a 911call was received 37 minutes later reporting gunshots.

An inquest previously heard how Gary died of gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
Joshua suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest, the court was told.
Both inquests were adjourned pending the criminal proceedings.
The family said: “Josh was a devoted father and a loving uncle. He was a wonderful son and brother and leaves behind an extensive group of family and friends.
“He will be deeply missed and the devastation this has caused will never heal.
“Gary was the most devoted son, brother, dad, and grandad, who gave everything for those he loved.
“He was a gentle and generous person who always put others before himself and he’ll be massively missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.”
