Police are hunting for an on-the-run killer after he allegedly shot four of his neighbors, killing three and injuring one, in rural Colorado, ended with the suspect in custody a day later, authorities said.
Hanme K. Clark of Westcliffe, Colorado was arrested by New Mexico State Police, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday afternoon.
Clark, 45, reportedly carried out the shooting in an apparent property dispute at around 1pm on Monday in a wooded area near Rocky Ridge Road, outside of Westville, Colorado, which lies around 140 miles south of Denver. 
A property dispute led to the shooting, which occurred along a “property line in the wooded area” in Custer County, according to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
Custer County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to find that two men and one woman were shot and killed before they arrived. One victim who survived taking ‘multiple’ bullets to the chest, was airlifted to Colorado Springs, then sent to Denver, in a critical condition.

The victims were from multiple families. The three deceased victims were identified as Rob Geers, Beth Wade and James Daulton. The fourth victim, Patty Daulton, is being treated at a trauma center, the sheriff’s office said.
One person was not shot in the incident and was able to run to safety, said Custer County Sheriff Rich Smith who revealed that “All of the deceased are involved with a property dispute involving the suspect.” There had been an ongoing court battle between neighbors and the suspect over access to an “informal gravel road” on the suspect’s property that some neighbors currently have the legal right to drive on.
The shooting reportedly, occurred on one of the victim’s property.

The lone survivor of the shooting was airlifted to a nearby hospital to deal with multiple gunshot wounds to her chest. Three people died at the scene 

A shelter-in-place order was given just before 1:30pm as several law enforcement agencies, including state police, were locked in a stand-off with Clark, who somehow managed to slip through police lines and escape. That order was rescinded at around 8:15pm.

Police were searching for a white Ram 1500 pickup associated with the suspect, the sheriff’s office said.
Clark fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Custer County Sheriff’s Office said his car also had a camper shell on top, and carried Colorado license plates BHLK27.

While the hunt was on law enforcement in Custer County said officers were confident they’d be catch him soon.  ‘We have a very good lead on almost exactly where the suspect and the vehicle are, and we’re working with another law enforcement agency to take him into custody,’ a spokesperson said at a press conference on Monday. 
The vehicle was spotted at a Walmart in Salida following the shooting, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office. The occupant purchased several items in the Walmart and then left in the vehicle “in the direction of the Methodist Mountain residential area,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
