A bride got the shock of her life after she was arrested at her own wedding and jailed for 11 years.
Nancy Lizeth Rodriguez Guadarrama from Villa Guerrero, Mexico never got to her cake, because she was in cuffs before she could say ‘I do’.
Rodriguez Guadarrama had been due to wed a wanted killer fugitive, nicknamed ‘El Raton’ or ‘The Mouse’,that day.
On arrival at the church, she was arrested and hauled before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, still wearing her white wedding dress.

Her husband-to-be, Clemente Mendiola Martinez, was identified as a hitman for a cell of the Familia Michoacana, escaped without waiting, leaving his bride to be led away in handcuffs by police still wearing her white wedding dress and veil.
Martinez, said to have been the boss of the crime gang La Familia Michoacana in the region of Toluca, was accused of extorting local chicken merchants in Toluca Valley, as well as more violent crimes including several kidnappings and homicides in the area.
Since 2021, the authorities have been offering a $17,000 [MXN 300,000], bounty for information leading to his capture.
Although Martinez, managed to elude capture at the church, weeks later he was found dead in his bullet riddled car in Villa Guerrero, Mexico on January 26, 2023.
The car reportedly, was hit with over 200 bullets, in what appeared to be a high-profile cartel execution. The assassins remain unknown.

The would-be bride, Rodriguez was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison for violent robbery after her arrest on December 3, 2023.
Prosecutors successfully proved she was a member of the Familia Michoacana criminal organization and took part in the violent March 2022 robbery, when a victim in Tenango del Valle was targeted by four people.
According to police reports of the investigation, she stole money from a victim with another woman and two male accomplices.
The victim filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which led to Rodriguez being identified, arrested and investigated. Law enforcement tracked the suspect to the church on her wedding day on December 3, 2023, and managed to take her into custody before her marriage celebrations even really got underway.
