The convicts were also been ordered to pay $14,657 in compensation to the minor victim

Bittar’s girlfriend Gesiely de Sousa Vieira, [photo], was his accomplice in the kidnap and sexual assault. The 22-year-old was sentenced to 29 years in prison for her part in the crime

Bittar with the help of Vieira kidnapped the child bundled her into their car and held a chloroform-soaked cloth to her face as he threatened her with a knife.
Her legs were then cuffed and she was zipped up inside a suitcase, which was placed in the trunk of his car and they drove to a woodland area to dump her mobile phone.
Bittar’s plan went awry when the victim’s school friend who witnessed the abduction, rang police.

The footage, captured in Luziania, Brazil, shows 42-year-old Daniel Moraes Bittar struggling to pull the suitcase behind him up two flights of stairs.

Police found the pre-teen victim was found inside Bittar’s apartment covered in bruises and chemical burns with her feet cuffed to the bed.
A search of the apartment uncovered electric shock devices, cameras, sex toys, and pornographic material. A gasoline canister was also found at the scene, leading the police to believe the pedophile may have planned to burn the girl’s body after raping her.
Examinations conducted after the girl was rescued also confirmed she was sexually assaulted.
Detective Joao Guilherme Medeiros told media: ‘The victim stated that Bittar touched her intimate parts and that she was forced to touch his genitals.
‘The girl said he threatened her all the time and said she would be his sex slave. He also filmed the abuses committed against the student and sent them to his girlfriend. The victim told us that he mentioned Geisy’s name on the phone.’
When the police first confronted Bittar, he denied everything and claimed the girl in his flat was a cousin, but later confessed and said he had considered ‘chemical castration’.

The police say the couple had spent three days surveying the school in search of a victim ahead of the alleged crime.
In an interview granted to local media, Medeiros said: ‘We have footage of him putting the suitcase in the EcoSport since Monday 26th. The planning of the crime is very clear.
‘In fact, he had in mind another girl, a 13-year-old, who has already been interviewed by our team.
‘This potential victim was known to the co-defendant because she had lived near Daniel’s girlfriend. This girl was their target.
‘For some reason, on 28th June, they changed their minds and went to the school in in Luziania and initially observed children and teenagers, and then, on a nearby street, they approached the victim we found in captivity.’

Bittar, [photo], and Gesiely de Sousa Vieira, spent three days surveying the school in search of a victim ahead of the alleged crime. He was sacked from his job as an IT technician at Banco de Brasilia after the case had come to light

Bittar told officers it was his first crime, but the police say there are indications he may have committed other crimes with his girlfriend’s help. Vieira’s claim that she was coerced by Bittar, was found less than credible by investigators.
Bittar who has a daughter of his own was employed as an IT technician at Banco de Brasilia, also volunteered at children’s hospitals. In the the aftermath, he was fired on 29th June, after the case was made public.
His girlfriend and co-conspirator De Souza Vieira, is a mother of two who presented herself on social media as a Christian.
Bittar had made several posts on social media condemning child abuse, including one reading: ‘Pedophilia is a crime. Report it’, according to police.

In the footage following his arrest, the police officer can be heard asking Bittar: ‘Is the girl there in your house?’
He then nods sheepishly and says ‘yes’ to which the officer then asks: ‘What is she doing in your house?’
He begins to reply incoherently before the cop interrupts him asking: ‘Where did you take her? Why did you take her? What did you do to her?’
Bittar who is visibly nervous says: ‘She’s just there, I haven’t done anything to her yet.’
Medeiros added: ‘Pedophiles disguise themselves as good people to approach children. I’m saying they act pragmatically: ‘We have come across several cases like this. That’s why parents need to be very careful. But even those of us who are experienced are shocked by what happened.’
Bittar who was seen in a video whimpering while being questioned by cops, has now been jailed for 45 years and nine months. De Souza Vieira was also sentenced to 29 years and two months in prison for her part in the horrific crime.
Both have also been ordered to pay $14,657 in compensation to the victim, who has not been named. His defense team has already said that they do not agree with the sentence and will appeal.
The couple faced charges of aggravated unlawful restraint, sexual abuse of a minor, and torture.
