Utah mom of three ‘shot and killed her husband at $1M mansion as he slept’ after he confronted her over her extra-marital affair

A wealthy wife accused of shooting her National Guardsman husband while he slept did so after he confronted her about having an affair, it has been revealed.
Jennifer Gledhill, 41, allegedly admitted to shooting Matthew Johnson in the head at their $1million home in Utah last month – but is yet to disclose where he is buried.
The mother-of-three was charged with killing Johnson, 51, a staff sergeant in the Utah National Guard who was reported missing on September 23.
In addition to first-degree murder, Gledhill is facing five counts of second-degree felony obstruction of justice, one count of second-degree felony possession with intent to distribute, one count of third-degree felony desecration of a human body, and one count of third-degree felony witness tampering.”

The missing person investigation began on Sept. 25 when the Utah National Guard called the police requesting assistance in locating Johnson after he did not come into work. When police contacted Gledhill, she reported her husband as missing, allegedly telling police they had a fight and he “told her he would be gone for a week and not to call him.”
Phone data shows Gledhill never attempted to contact her husband after Sept. 21. Friends and family told authorities they have not heard from Johnson since that day.

Police were tipped off about Gledhill after a man who claimed to be having an affair with her contacted cops in the Salt Lake City suburb.
The informant told police she admitted to killing her husband after he confronted her about the extramarital relationship on September 20, as reported by ABC4. 
Gledhill claimed she shot Johnson while he slept the next day, according to the informant. 
She allegedly put Johnson’s body in an attic storage container and then slid it down the stairs and into the back of her minivan.
Gledhill allegedly smashed Johnson’s phone and drove his truck to another area of their estate before driving his body north and burning him in a shallow grave.

Police grew suspicious after finding Johnson’s truck parked a couple of blocks from his home

The informant told police Gledhill ‘assumed he would be like her and if her friend told her a hypothetical story, she would say, ‘Let me get my shovel!’ and take the information to her grave.’
The story was reinforced when a witness reportedly told detectives they saw Gledhill’s relatives cleaning  her house until 11pm on September 24, three days after the alleged murder and two days after the suspect spoke with the informant.
One of Gledhill’s relatives told police they bought her a new mattress after she asked for one. 
Police say they found a brand new mattress when they searched Gledhill’s home, as well as ‘reddish-brown spots’ on the wall and bed frame and bleach stains on the stairs.
Detectives searched the family members’ home and located a plastic tote with a gun box wrapped in an infant onesie.
Authorities say the gun box was consistent with the model and color of a gun that she had shown the informant several days prior to the alleged murder.

Gledhill and her children reportedly moved with her parents in Cottonwood Heights when she first filed for divorce. Eventually they moved back home with Johnson. Rose and Ted Gledhill, said they are now struggling to break the tragic news to their three grandchildren that their mother allegedly killed their father.
A court date for Gledhill’s first court appearance has not yet been set and she remains in jail without bond.
