<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A 20-yearold New York man has been charged with two seemingly unconnected Bronx murders days apart, including the shooting of a 28 finance graduate who took on an extra job at Papa John’s to help support his family<br>New York Tuesday announced the arrest of 20-year-old Jailyn Wagner, accused of the murders Idriss Cherif El Farissy, 28, and 39-year-old Roman Martinez, happening six days apart last July, at E. 176th Street and Mohegan Avenue, in New York City.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Wagner was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to each case after members of the NYPD’s Violent Felony Squad descended on his home Monday morning, police said. <br>In the first murder, just before 3 a.m. July 23, Wagner allegedly shot Idriss Cherif El Farissy in the head outside his East 176th Street apartment building in Crotona Park East, On July 23, in an attempted robbery</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The shooter reportedly, is the son of a tenant who lived in the same building. El Farissy was returning home from his delivery driver shift and had just parked his car when he encountered the alleged shooter, according to the police report.<br>&#8216;When he got to the house, I was with him on the phone,&#8217; said his fiancee Maria. <br>He told me, ‘Baby, I’m going to park the car. Let me hang up on you, just so that I can park and I’m coming inside.<br>&#8216;And I thought, like, OK, but by the time he hung up the phone, got out of the car, all I heard was shots outside the house.”<br>And then I got out, and he was on the floor…and he died. He died there.”<br>Surveillance footage from the area reportedly showed the gunman rifling through the victim&#8217;s pockets before making his getaway on a Citi Bike, leaving El Farissy dead at the scene.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">El Farissy, who immigrated from Morocco to the US at age 17, attended an international high school in New York before moving on to Medgar Evers College, and then Baruch College, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance.<br>He had been working as a provider contracts manager at Emblem Health for five years, and only recently tacked on the Papa John’s job because he and Maria – who began dating in high school – had hoped to start a family. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Idriss really wanted to be a dad, but actually one of the reasons why he worked so hard and worked multiple jobs was not only because he wanted to have a child, but to give them a financially stable life and as well as support people that he cares [for],” Maria said. <br>Hours before the murder, he visited his parents to say goodbye because he and Maria were planning an upcoming vacation. <br>But then Papa John’s called him for help, because they were short-staffed.<br>“And then of course Idriss being Idriss was like, ‘Of course, I’ll go,’” Maria said. <br>“Anyone who has met Idriss knows that Idriss was humble, loving, Idriss was respectful, Idriss was selfless.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He had only been working at the pizza joint for about eight months, according to his colleague Leslie Pozo, 29, a cashier.<br>During his short tenure there, he’d already won “employee of the month” twice, she recalled.<br>He had planned to go on vacation to the Dominican Republic with his fiancée two weeks after his life was tragically taken, according to Pozo.<br>“I don’t understand this sort of violence towards someone who didn’t have any issues with anybody,” Pozo said. “This was truly an act of pure violence. He didn’t have no issues with anybody.”<br>For his second homicide Wagner allegedly, shot Roman Martinez multiple times in the head, on the evening of July 29. <br> </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Roman Martinez was found unconscious inside of an RV mobile trailer on East 176th Street near Mohegan Avenue, about a block from his home, just before 8 p.m. He been shot through the window of an RV camper he had bought to live in after a recent divorce,<br>He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motive for that deadly shooting remains unclear. <br>The victim&#8217;s family at the time<a href="https://bronx.news12.com/nypd-man-dead-after-fatal-shooting-in-west-farms">said at the time that his relative was sleeping in the camper when he was killed. <br>“I’m destroyed right now,” Bruno said. “He was a good guy. He didn’t have problems with nobody and he didn’t deserve that.”<br>The arraignment for Wagner’s who has no prior arrests in the city, according to police, was still pending late Tuesday afternoon</p>
