<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on an attempted murder charge in connection with a weekend shooting around a house party in the Lenoir in North Carolina&#8217;s Catawba County, sheriff’s deputies said.<br>Garon Nathaniel Killian, of Lenoir, was being held in jail without bond, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.<br>Police officers responding to calls of shooting at a home near the city of Hickory around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, found 12 shooting victims. One victim was deceased, while another person was in critical condition, according to the police report. <br>Many of those attending the party were local high school students, but the lone fatality was identified as 58-year-old Shawn Patrick Hood.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Officers executed search warrants on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the shooting as authorities said additional suspects could be arrested in the shooting.<br>The shooting took place during a pool pool party early Sunday in a usually quiet residential neighborhood in Lenoir, about 7 miles south of the city of Hickory.<br>Authorities said at least 80 shots were fired beginning at about 12:45 a.m. People reported running, ducking for cover and scrambling to their cars for safety.<br>The crime scene spanned several properties along a neighborhood road, covering about 2 acres, and included outdoor and indoor areas. The FBI said the shooting came from a hill behind a neighboring property, directed at the party goers at the poolside, before someone at the party returned fire. <br>Law enforcement recovered 80 shells from the adjoining 2 acre spread, where the shooter it is believed, was stationed<br>During a brief court appearance on Tuesday, Killian addressed the court, saying, “I apologize for being involved in this situation.”<br>As the FBI is piecing together what they think happened at the house party, it has been revealed that the suspect is out on bond in a separate mass shooting incident from April 6, where he is also accused of shooting into a crowd of people. <br>From the April shooting Killian is facing a total of seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, as well as charges for going armed to the terror of the public and discharging a firearm in city limits. He was released on bond following the April arrest.</p>
