A Tennessee man suspected of killing four members of a family last week, leaving only an infant as the lone survivor has been arrested after seven days on the run.
Austin Robert Drummond, 28, is alleged to have murdered Adrianna Williams, 20, her boyfriend James Matthew Wilson, 21, her mother Cortney Rose, 38, and her 15-year-old brother Braydon Williams, in Tiptonville, Tennessee on July 29.
Drummond, who was not related to the family but had dated a relative, abducted and transported Wilson and Williams’ baby girl across county lines where he abandoned her on a ‘random’ front lawn 40 miles from where the bodies were found.
After a massive manhunt by law enforcement, brought an end to his his seven days on the run as the ex-con was captured Tuesday morning, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation shared an image of the murder suspect being taken into custody in rainfall in the woods somewhere in the city of Jackson.

Discovery of the killings came after Adrianna Williams, 20 and James Matthew Wilson’s infant daughter was abandoned on a stranger’s front lawn in a neighboring county. Williams, 20 and Wilson, 21, were found in a dense, wooded area hours later. Both shot dead

Prior to his arrest, Drummond was last spotted on Sunday night in the city of Jackson, about 70 miles from the scene of the murders, dressed in camouflage, armed with a rifle.
Officials shared surveillance footage of the alleged quadruple-homicide suspect, warning locals to ‘exercise extreme caution’ until the ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect is caught.
Authorities warned that Drummond may have also altered his appearance while on the run, and the image released from his capture showed that he had shaved a goatee that he wore in his last mugshot.
It was revealed that Drummond who has a history of vicious crimes had been released in September 2024, after a 13-year prison stint for armed robbery.
Upon release, he faced new charges, including attempted first-degree murder and contraband in a penal facility. He was out on bond for the attempted murder charge from his time in prison.

Last Tuesday’s saga unfolded after police were first alerted to a baby girl left in a car seat on a ‘random individual’s front yard’ in Tigrett, Tennessee.
A local reported seeing a white vehicle pulling into the yard, dropped off the child on the front lawn before speeding away, triggering an urgent search for her family.
Law enforcement started with trying to locate the baby’s parents and grandmother, in the belief that they were culpable in the child’s abandonment.
However in the course of the search, police uncovered the massacre of her family, about 40 miles away in a wooded area in Tiptonville, Tennessee.
The four family members were found dead, all with gunshot wounds. Drummond was announced as the prime suspect two days later on July 31.

Prior to his capture, officials were offering rewards upwards of $30,000 for information leading to the arrest of Austin Drummond who was wanted on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and unlawful firearm possession
In the week that Drummond was a fugitive, cops arrested three people in connection with the murders, including Dearrah Sanders, 23, who allegedly ‘assisted’ the killer.
Tanaka Brown, 29, and Giovonte Thomas, 29, were also arrested during the manhunt, and all three are facing charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
Authorities have not yet detailed how the three individuals allegedly helped Drummond.
Drummond was wanted on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and unlawful firearm possession, and officials were offering rewards upwards of $30,000 for information leading to his arrest.
When Drummond came up for parole hearing in June 2020, District Attorney General Jody Pickens strongly opposed his application for early release, describing him as a ‘dangerous felony offender’ and member of the street and prison gang, Vice Lords – considered one of the largest, notoriously violent prison gangs, founded inside a Chicago juvenile facility in 1958.

The motive behind the slayings has not been released, although officials said that Drummond was known to the family.
The killer had dated one of Cortney Rose’s sisters, and often spent time with the family.
Cortney’s daughter Adrianna Williams and her boyfriend James Matthew were the baby’s parents, while the fourth victim, Braydon Williams was Adrianna’s younger brother.
Drummond’s criminal history is well-known to authorities in Dyer County, where he has previously faced charges, appearing in court multiple times.
His record includes gun, drug, and contraband charges while incarcerated.
