<p>A man closely connected to Norway&#8217;s Royal household has been charged with 32 offenses including four counts of rape against four different women, some assaulted while unconscious. <br>Marius Borg Høiby, 28, the stepson of the future King of Norway, Crown Prince Haakon, has been under investigation since his arrest on August 4, 2024 on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend Nora Haukland.<br>Hoiby who was recently charged with rape, sexual assault and bodily harm, has been under scrutiny since he was repeatedly arrested in 2024 on preliminary charges.<br>Following months of investigating of a case that involved a &#8216;double-digit&#8217; number of alleged victims, At the end of June, police in the capital city Oslo announced charges against Høiby on multiple counts, including rape, sexual assault and bodily harm.<br>The formal announcement was made on Monday by Norwegian prosecutors that the son of Norway&#8217;s crown princess has been charged with 32 offenses including four rapes and assault, <br>According to Norwegian outlet NRK, this includes four rapes of four different woman between 2018 and 2024, abuse against Haukland his former partner and several acts of violence against another ex-girlfriend. <br>On all occasions, Høiby allegedly assaulted the women while they were sleeping and filmed the assaults which allegedly occurred after Høiby and the women had consensual intercourse. <br>He has also been charged with making death threats, assaulting a public official and violating the road traffic act. </p>

<p>Presenting the indictment on Monday, public prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø revealed that Hoiby will be facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison if convicted during the trial which begins in January, scheduled to last six weeks.<br> &#8216;This case is very serious. Rape and violence in close relationships are very serious acts that can leave lasting traces and destroy lives,&#8217; Henriksbø said.<br>Høiby whose birth preceded the marriage of his mother Crown Princess Mette-Marit to Crown Prince Haakon, the heir apparent to the Norwegian crown, is said to have &#8216;strongly denied&#8217; the &#8216;essentials&#8217; of the allegations against him, which include rape allegations. <br>It comes shortly after Høiby had his <a href="https://www.seher.no/kongelig/slottet-bekrefter-fratatt-passet/83419869">diplomatic passport revoked</a>, shortly after a five-day holiday in Portugal with his stepfather and half brother Prince Sverre Magnus, 19. <br>The specific reasons why had to surrender the passport remain unknown.</p>

<p>At the end of June, Oslo police announced charges against Høiby on multiple counts, including rape, sexual assault and bodily harm after a months-long investigation of a case that involved a &#8216;double-digit&#8217; number of alleged victims.<br>At the time State Attorney Sturla Henriksbø said there would be further clarification regarding the charges in August.<br>Høiby is reported to have had both a diplomatic and standard passport since he was young. <br>While members of the Royal House have diplomatic passports, other members of the Royal Family use standard ones after turning 18, under new rules that came into effect around six months ago and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last week confirmed that Høiby no longer has a diplomatic passport.</p>

<p>At the end of November 2024, Høiby was detained by police for a week to ensure there was no tampering of evidence while they conducted an investigation into allegations filed against him &#8211; <br>Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski said the suspect, who is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, , was cooperative when interviewed by police. <br>Evidence in the during the now completed investigation, was drawn from sources including text messages, witness testimonies and police searches, the police attorney said.<br>Among those who have come forward with allegations against him is national media personality Linni Meister. She was 32 and the alleged predator 21, when she attended a &#8216;castle basement party&#8217; organized by Høiby&#8217;s in 2018.<br>She allegedly was sexually assaulted by her &#8216;friend&#8217; and police reportedly recorded evidence of the incident.</p>

<p>At this particular &#8216;party among friends&#8217; Høiby allegedly raped Meister while she was unconscious. <br>Police reportedly, became aware of this particular incident after discovering three videos and more than 10 photos of the incident on Høiby&#8217;s laptop.<br>TV star Meister, now 39, reportedly did not remember the alleged assault and only became aware of it after she was informed by law enforcement officials backed with video and images. After the claims came out earlier this year, Meister stated the allegations were &#8216;true&#8217; in a Snapchat statement.<br>She has now hit out at Høiby&#8217;s &#8216;disrespect&#8217; in a podcast &#8216;Puppen og Lillemor&#8217; with friend and co-host Mia Gundersen.</p>

<p>Meister became emotional as she criticized her attacker for &#8216;running away and going to party&#8217; while &#8216;victims&#8217; wait for justice: &#8216;He has no respect for himself or his family. Not even for us victims. It&#8217;s hurtful. What happened afterwards is almost worse for me,&#8217; she said tearfully in an episode.<br>&#8216;Instead of doing the right thing, he runs away and goes to a party. I am appalled by how things are being handled by the defendant. And why isn&#8217;t more happening? It p***es me off!<br>&#8216;If we are going to have a monarchy, we have to be able to trust it. He is not even in a place where he takes care of his health. He travels from country to country to party!&#8217;<br>Meister also admitted her heartbreak at the situation, considering she had considered Borg Høiby a friend, such that when the police presented her with &#8216;evidence&#8217; of her own assault, she initially wondered if it had been faked with AI.<br>Høiby was also accused of rape by a fifth woman, which allegedly took happened when he was released from police custody for assaulting his girlfriend.</p>

<p>Back in November 2024, Crown Prince Haakon addressing his stepson&#8217;s arrest said: &#8216;Marius is facing serious accusations, which the police and the judiciary will deal with. I am convinced they will do a good job.<br>&#8216;As a family and as parents, we have wanted Marius to receive help and we have been working for a long time to get him to a place where he can receive more help.<br>&#8216;It is something we give a lot of priority to. It must be done within the framework established by the legal system.&#8217; <br>Høiby previously lived with the royal couple and their two children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, but at 28 now lives in a separate house nearby.<br>Once known affectionately as &#8216;Little Marius&#8217;, Høiby grew up in the public eye, enjoying the same wealth and privilege as his royal siblings, although his biological father, Morten Borg, served time in prison for drugs and violent offenses. Høiby has acknowledged cocaine use and addiction.</p>

<p>The rape suspect with royal links has faced strong criticism from observers including several of the defense attorneys for several victims, regarding his flamboyant lifestyle while under probe. <br>Despite the year-long ongoing investigation, Høiby has been traveling domestically and abroad on a number of occasions. While local media report that Høiby has also spent time at rehab centers in London since his arrest, he has continued his life as normal since the charges came to light in August last year, he has since jetted off with friends to Hemsedal, Copenhagen and Italy, made trips to Cannes and Monaco.<br>It is believed that he used the diplomatic passport when traveling solo, abusing the privilege.<br>The list of the charges against Høiby include one count of rape with intercourse, two counts of rape without intercourse and four counts of sexually offensive behavior.<br>Other charges include one count of abuse in close relationships, two counts of bodily harm, one count of malicious damage and one count of threats.<br>The privileged suspect has five violations of restraining order to go with a case of molestation of a police officer as well as five traffic citations.<br>Despite the looming legal avalanche Høiby reportedly, was seen partying at the Cannes Film Festival in the company of Norwegian businessman Per Morten Hansen, a good friend of his his biological father, and cruising the Mediterranean aboard the luxury $20 million 165-foot yacht &#8216;Da Vinci&#8217;, owned by multi-billionaire Vincent Tchenguiz.<br><br> <br></p>
