<p>A renowned California doctor and his wife were found executed in the garage of their $1.3 million home just before a body, believed to be connected to the gruesome crimes, was found inside a burning car, according to police. ;<br>Dr. Eric Cordes, a 63-year-old &#8216;highly respected&#8217; Simi Valley radiologist, and his wife Vicki, 66, died from fatal gunshot wounds in the garage of their home around 12pm Sunday. ;<br>A worried neighbor in the quaint Wood Ranch neighborhood reported gunfire before officers found the couple lying in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Simi Valley Police.<br>According to a police spokesperson, the 911 caller reported seeing a white male suspect walk up to an open garage, point a handgun, and fire multiple shots.</p>

<p>Eric and Vicki, who were both previously married with children, were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition where they later died from their injuries around 7pm, authorities said. <br>Images from the crime scene show a large puddle of blood was left behind inside the garage and at the end of the cul-de-sac where the couple&#8217;s home is located.<br>Meanwhile, a body was found inside a fiery car at Ayala Park in Chino, about 70 miles away from the double-homicide scene. Chino police said a person was found dead at around 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, at a parking lot in the area of Central and Edison avenues. This death is being investigated as a possible case of suicide. </p>

<p>Though it is unclear if the fatal incidents are related, one of the deceased couple&#8217;s neighbors believes the gunman, who has been described as a white male, is the couple&#8217;s stepson.<br>For now police have neither ruled out the stepson, nor the possibility that the deaths are related, &#8216;but we are still trying to confirm if that is the case,&#8217; police said. ;<br>According to police, the suspect is believed to have driven away from the murder scene before making his way to the park and setting the car on fire. ; ;<br>Meanwhile, a burnt sedan was spotted surrounded by investigators in Ayala Park, 70 miles away from the crime scene in Simi Valley. Officers had been initially dispatched on a call about a car fire. <br>On arrival, they found a deceased person lying next to a burning black Honda civic. The body was found burned, and a gun was also recovered from the scene.<br>Investigators swarmed around the shell of the torched vehicle before it was towed away.</p>

<p class="has-small-font-size"><strong>Simi Valley cops are working alongside police in Chino regarding a death by suicide and car fire at Ayala Park in San Bernardino County. While the nexus is yet to be determined, investigators believe the double-homicide and suicide could be connected</strong></p>



<p>Simi Valley police said they are waiting for confirmation from the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office on the identity of the deceased and cause of death.<br>The investigation has seen Chino Police Department personnel coordinated with the Simi Valley Police Department, according to Police Public Information Officer, Detective Sergeant Rick Morton.<br>Morton confirmed that they were &#8220;investigating the double homicide and sent detectives to Chino to determine whether the two incidents were related.” <br>On Monday Chino police in a statement said: “Based on preliminary information, investigators believe the incidents are likely connected.&#8221;<br>The motive behind the attack remains unclear and no arrests have been made.</p>
