<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A California woman accused of hiring a hit man to <a href="https://konniemoments.com/2025/08/27/widow-claims-jealous-ex-wife-hired-four-people-to-execute-doctor-husband-in-bid-to-get-his-money-in-lawsuit/">assassinate her celebrity doctor ex-husband</a> on Monday pled not guilty to murder charges.<br>Ahang Mirshojae, née Kelk, 54, of Calabasas is accused of conspiring to kill Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, a prominent Southern California physician who was gunned down outside his Woodland Hills medical clinic in August 2024.<br>She faces the murder charge alongside alleged gunman Evan Hardman, 42, of Tomball, Texas.<br>Iran-born Hamid Mirshojae, 61, was fatally shot in the back of his head by a “masked man” in the parking lot of his family clinic on the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.<br>Dr. Mirshojae, whose patients included many A list individuals, celebrities, movie stars and athletes, had just finished his shift around 5:34 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2024, when the gunman emerged from a hiding spot and ran toward his target.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In December 2024, the Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of Ahang Mirshojae, along with four other people for conspiracy to commit the murder of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae. <br>Among the four co-conspirators arrested along with Ahang include the alleged trigger man 42, of Tomball, Texas and Ashley Rose Sweeting, 41, who allegedly drove the getaway vehicle. The others were Sarallah Jawed, 27, and Shawn Randolph.<br>Ahang Kelk Mirshojae and Shawn Randolph were both charged with murder. Ahang former was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband in a financially motivated crime.<br>Jawed and Hardman were both charged with one felony count of murder, one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon and special allegations that the murder was intentional and carried out for financial gain.<br>Hardman received additional special allegations of carrying out the shooting by lying in wait and that he personally and intentionally used a handgun. Sweeting was charged with accessory after the fact.<br>Hardman allegedly told detectives Mirshojae first hired him to attack her former husband months before the fatal shooting. He is due to be arraigned in court Tuesday.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The initial plot allegedly involved beating Mirshojae and taking two valuable watches. After the attack failed to produce the watches, Hardman said, Mirshojae wanted the job taken further.<br>Hardman told investigators Mirshojae later offered him $400,000 to kill the doctor during a meeting in Agoura Hills, according to testimony detailed in court proceedings.<br>He allegedly recalled her saying, “I want to take him all the way out.” <br>Hardman also claimed she reacted as though she had won a major victory after learning of the shooting and gave him a bag containing cash. Prosecutors allege the killing was carefully planned.<br>On Aug. 23, 2024, a masked gunman allegedly waited for Mirshojae outside his clinic on the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard before approaching him from behind as he headed toward his vehicle.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The doctor was shot in the head at close range and died at the scene. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has alleged that Hardman intentionally waited for the victim before attacking him, in a murder scheme motivated by financial gain.<br>The alleged murder came just months after Mirshojae was attacked with a blunt weapon. Prosecutors say Mirshojae’s ex-wife also hired Hardman and another man, Sarallah Jawed, in connection with that earlier assault.<br>Jawed was later charged in the case, while Ashley Rose Sweeting was accused of acting as an accessory and allegedly driving Hardman to and from the shooting.<br>Mirshojae’s widow, Ghazal Simorgh, was reportedly visiting family overseas in Turkey with the couple’s 6-month-old baby at the time of the shooting. It was reported that she quickly flew back to the U.S. when she learned of her husband’s murder.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A judge ultimately found insufficient evidence to send Jawed and Sweeting to trial on the murder charges, while Mirshojae and Hardman were ordered to stand trial in June 2026.<br>Mirshojae’s murder shocked his family and patients.<br>The physician had spent decades working in emergency medicine and addiction treatment, with his professional biography saying his patients included ;“celebrities, movie stars, athletes.”</p>
