Left to his own devices for another 40 minutes, Perez eventually put a chair against a wall, punched out ceiling tiles, climbed into the rafters and ran from the buildings, with shackles on his ankles.According to North Las Vegas Police Chief, Alexander Perez, no one was watching the live surveillance footage during Perez’s escape.

Alonso Perez is accused of killing 31-year-old Mohammed Robinson because he didn’t hold the door open for a woman at a McDonald’s restaurant.
After five days on the run, Perez was arrested Tuesday night at an apartment complex near Pecos and Charleston. He was booked on charges of murder with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm into a building, escape, and grand larceny auto. As of Thursday, he was still safely in custody.
