He is not afraid and has no plans to move from his home

The unidentified man who is black and lives in a house in Highlands, just outside Houston, was awakened to find his home spray-painted in red with “get out” and “leave” in addition to repeated uses of the racial slur.
According to Rachel Moreno, spokeswoman for the Harris County Fire Marshal, firefighters were called to the home at 5 a.m., when the owner was still inside asleep and did not know what was going on outside.

The reclusive 51-year-old man told KPRC that he lives alone at the home and told the station “Why me? I don’t do much. I don’t go a lot of places. I pretty much stay home. I don’t mess with a lot of people,” he said.
The father of five said there have been previous instances of the race baiting and harassment.
“I just hear cars rolling by with the N-word, ‘Get out’ and it’s funny that I’m saying this because that’s exactly what it says on that car,” the homeowner said.
Firefighters washed the paint off the house, but the marks remain.
“[I’m] kind of scared. Nervous. [I] don’t really know what to expect. [I] don’t know how to deal with it,” he said.
The homeowner said he has no plans of leaving the neighborhood.
“I just plan on staying here and living,” he said.

The Harris County Fire Marshal is treating the incident as a possible hate crime. The Marshal’s Office said that it is meeting with the FBI, and that the fire and vandalism are being investigated as a possible bias incidents. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Rachel Moreno said that firefighters used a power washer to clean the graffiti from the house.
