The Chicago woman jailed in her mother’s 2014 slaying in Bali admitted to the murder in a video she posted online , saying she acted alone, and was avenging her father’s hotel death.
Heather Mack’s three-part video — which was posted to YouTube Thursday — shows the now-21-year-old sniffling as she explains her reasons for killing her mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack.
Mack called the confession “a video that I need to make,” saying the truth would set her free.
She claims that two weeks before she traveled to Bali, she learned that her father, musician James Mack, was murdered by his wife [Sheila], in 2006 in an Athens hotel room. However, reports of his death claimed that James Mack suffered a pulmonary embolism.
Mack says her hatred for her 62-year-old mother increased following her discovery about her father.

“And I made it up, in my heart, in my mind, in my soul, in my blood, and the oxygen running through my body, that I wanted to kill my mother,” she says.
Mack says she asked her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, to help find someone to kill her mom for $50,000, but he refused.
That’s when she says she got a new, “savage” idea — “that I wanted to kill her in a hotel room, because she had killed my father in a hotel room,” she said.
She began taking Schaefer’s cell phone at night to text — and later delete — messages between the phones, saying she didn’t want to get arrested alone in another country. She also claims she used her mother’s credit card to buy a plane ticket for Schaefer, who she called “innocent” throughout the video confession.
“I don’t regret killing my mother, and as evil as that may sound, that is my reality,” she says.
“I killed her myself,” she added.
After Mack carried out the August 2014 attack, she says, she threatened to call the police if Schaefer didn’t help get rid of the body, which was found stuffed in a suitcase.
The boyfriend and girlfriend were arrested one day later.
Schaefer’s cousin Robert Ryan Justin Bibbs was also arrested, and prosecutors alleged that the three were hoping to share inheritance money von Wiese-Mack would leave behind.
Mack claimed that she and her lawyers pressured Schaefer to admit to the murder.

Mack and Schaefer’s had a baby daughter Stella was born in March 2015 who she is raising in prison until the child turns 2 years old, at which point foster parents or an agency will care for the girl.
The self-admitted killer says she doesn’t regret murdering her mother, but she does regret the impact it’s had for Schaefer and Stella.
“I love you (Tommy). I really love you, and if I would go back I would do it myself,” Mack says at the close of her video. “I’m sorry everyone thinks you’re some crazy killer. Whoever is watching this, don’t hate Tommy. he’s innocent. I’m not.”
Debbi Curran, von Wiese-Mack’s sister, released a statement to the Chicago Tribune following the video release, saying the family has endured “endless lies” about what occurred in Bali.
“”Heather Mack’s stories about her relationship with her mother and the events in Bali have changed so many times; it is impossible to discern truth from deception,” Curran said in the statement. “However, her accusation about Sheila killing Jim is completely false. Sheila loved Jim very deeply and was devastated by his death. We are also struck by the utter lack of any remorse from Heather over her mother’s murder.”
