Gerry Thomas and Clarence Williams accused in a double murder and arson appeared in Paterson, New Jersey court on Friday for a detention hearing.
As Thomas was being led out of the court room, two factions in the gallery started yelling at each other and throwing shoes and handbags. Police had to intervene when attendees in the court room nearly came to blows.

Thomas, 28, and 26-year-old Williams are accused of murdering Aaron Anderson and Antonio Vega Jr.
The charred remains of the two victims were pulled out of the burnt out debris of a car, registered to RHONJ star Kim DePaola, but used by her son, Chris Camiscioli.
Camiscioli allegedly lent his friend Anderson the car after he dropped him off at the airport.

The gallery devolved into chaos Friday as the detention hearings for Clarence Williams, 26, and Gerry Thomas, 28, wrapped up.
Williams and Thomas stand accused of murdering Aaron Anderson and Antonio Vega Jr., the two men whose charred remains were found in RHONJ star Kim DePaola’s burning car last Friday in Paterson, New Jersey.

The two suspects  were denied bail at back-to-back hearings on Friday in New Jersey court. At the beginning of the proceedings, the judge warned the attendees against making a disturbance.
They seemed to follow the instructions from the bench as Williams was brought out and denied bail, though one woman did throw up the middle finger as he was being led out of court.
Things got more heated at the end of Thomas’ hearing, in which he was also denied bail.

It’s unclear who the other woman was, but some conflicting reports pegged her as an aunt of Gerry Thomas, the defendant in court at the time.
There was a heavy police presence in the court room, as the officers quickly stepped in to keep the two groups separated, one woman threw a handbag across.
Another was about to follow suit shoe in hand, but a police officer stepped in and took the footwear away from her before she could launch.

As Thomas was being led out of the court room at the end of the proceedings, two factions in the gallery started yelling at each other.
Video shows the moment that family members of the two victims started shouting at a woman on the other side of the court room.
It’s unclear who the other woman was, but some conflicting reports pegged her as an aunt of Thomas.

Another woman tried to throw a shoe, but an officer grabbed it from her and threw it down before she could chuck it across the room.

It took about five minutes for officers to restore order in the court room. Michelle Ryerson, the mother of victim AaronAnderson, was detained by deputies and questioned after the incident.
At one point, Thomas’ attorney spoke up and asked for the identities of the people who had caused the disturbance so he could have them banned from future proceedings.
