<article id="ra-body">Investigators said Davis, along with her grandson, went to a home in the 1400 block of West Rita before 1:30 p.m. Their mission was to retrieve items belonging to the victim&#8217;s son Jacob Gillespie III, who previously dated the suspect.<br />
A short time later, the 35-year-old suspect allegedly began assaulting her elderly guest.<br />
The little boy managed to get away with his grandmother&#8217;s cell phone and call for help. When police arrived, the boy directed them to the house.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s not clear if the two women got into an argument, but officers said shortly after Davis and her grandson arrived Hilyard started attacking her ex&#8217;s mother.<br />
Authorities said the child was able to get his grandmother&#8217;s cell phone from her truck and then ran away from the home and called police for help.|<br />
When cops arrived, the boy directed officers to the home but no one answered the door.</p>

<p>Police then went through to the garage where they discovered the decapitated victim. Police eventually found the suspect hiding inside her home.<br />
She was arrested and taken to Sedgwick County Jail. Hilyard, faces first-degree murder charges.<br />
&#8220;She&#8217;s going to be incarcerated for the rest of her days,&#8221; Davis&#8217; nephew Casey Wallace told ABC Kansas. &#8220;I hope she sits in that jail and thinks about that. Hope it eats her alive. And I hope Micki&#8217;s at peace.&#8221;<br />
Records show Hilyard&#8217;s priors includes a conviction on four counts of drug possession leading to incarceration in Sedgwick County from 2013 through 2015.<br />
Jacob Davis III, himself a <a href="http://www.kake.com/story/35023475/one-in-custody-after-wichita-police-chase">career criminal</a>, is currently being held in the Sedgwick County Jail being held for theft related offenses, following a police chase and crash of a stolen truck late last month.</p>
