Kansas City police responding to Tasha Haefs’ home, on Tuesday after she called police to complain that the devil was after her, arrested the homeowner after looking through a window and seeing what appeared to be a decapitated head.
The 35-year-old Missouri mother has been charged with decapitating her six-year-old son and her dog, and was reportedly heard singing loudly when cops arrived. 
The child’s name is withheld and no motive has been given for the horrific bloodbath.  
On Tuesday night police were dispatched to Tasha Haefs’ home after she called 911 and told the despatcher ‘the devil was trying to attack her,’ instead responding officers found blood on the front steps of the home on arrival.
Officers could hear a woman singing, but she refused to open the door, prosecutors said. The officers said the louder they knocked, the louder the woman sang.

One officer looked in through a window saw what appeared to be a decapitated head inside the house and police, who knew multiple children lived in the residence, forced their way in.  
Once inside, police found Haefs with blood on her legs and feet. 
‘The female suspect had apparent blood on her person and two knives with apparent blood on them were observed in plain view throughout the residence,’ the criminal complaint said.

Officers determined Haefs had several cuts and scratches on both of her hands, as well as a cut and a puncture wound to her right thigh, Fox4kc.com reported. Mom is charged with murder for decapitating her 6-year-old son.
They also found the body of the decapitated six-year-old in the kitchen and a decapitated dog in the basement and two knives. 
Police also recovered a blood-stained screwdriver from the scene. 
While speaking to police, the 35-year-old ‘admitted to killing the victim in the bathtub and decapitating the victim,’ the complaint said.

On Wednesday Haefs was charged with the first-degree murder of her son and armed criminal action. 
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker released a statement after filing charges in the gruesome case.
‘The community now knows some of the terrible details of the death of this 6-year-old child. It takes our breath away,’ she said. ‘My office, as it always has, pledges to do everything in its power to bring justice in this young boy’s murder. We will not shrink from our responsibility.
‘It’s difficult to imagine the grief for this boy’s family. For the child’s classmates. His friends. Neighbors. The first responders who went to this crime scene.
‘I expect it leaves us not knowing what to do. We might look at our loved ones today and give some thanks to God or even say a prayer. Thank you, my child is safe today. But we want everyone’s children to be safe,’ Peters Baker added.
