Francisco Prado-Contreras was charged with statutory rape charges after police say he impregnated the student who came to him looking for a job.
The accused paedophile was not the coach, he was also a friend of the victim’s family.
Police said coach Prado-Contreras molested the teen after she approached him about a job, Philly.com reported. The girl was 14 years old at the time.
According to the teen, who has not been identified, Prado-Contreras was a family friend and a volunteer coach for the soccer team she played with at the city’s Capitolo Recreation Center.
The girl said she asked the 39-year-old coach, a mentor and authority figure in her life, for a job with his house-cleaning business. He invited her to stop by an apartment building where he would be working.
When the girl showed up however, Prado-Contreras coerced her into having sex for money, police said.
The pattern continued as the coach would pay the girl after each encounter. He slept with the victim five times during September 2015 authorities said. A month after their first encounter, the teen learned she was pregnant. The baby is said to be seven months old, NBC 10 reported.
