Katie Carsey admitted undressing and having sex with her 14-year-old student in the backseat of her car at a church parking lot
A teacher’s aide in Florida was arrested for allegedly engaging in an improper relationship with a 14-year-old male student, at a church parking lot
Katie Carsey, a paraprofessional teacher’s assistant at Fort McCoy Middle School, allegedly confessed to a friend that she was having a relationship with a 14-year-old boy she met last school year and word got back to police. The victim is now 15.
According to a Facebook post by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation revealed that the 36-year-old married teacher was caught in a church parking lot in her bra and panties, with the student.
Investigators said during a July incident, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle parked outside the church. When the deputy investigated, Carsey was “partially clothed in the vehicle attempting to leave the parking lot.”
A partially un dressed Carsey was the only person in the car, and she told the deputy that she was waiting for an adult male.
Two months later, investigators heard that Carsey had told someone that she narrowly escaped being caught having sex with her student before the deputy arrived. Investigators said when they spoke with Carsey on Wednesday, she admitted to undressing and having inappropriate contact with the boy in her back seat.
“Carsey gave conflicting accounts regarding her involvement with the juvenile victim,” the police report states.
“After being presented with the facts of the investigation, Carsey confessed to having sexual contact with the juvenile victim.”
The boy, who is now 15 years old, told investigators he jumped out of the vehicle s when he noticed the deputy’s patrol car. He watched from the wood and then ran home.
Carsey was arrested on Wednesday and charged with one count of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. She’s being held at Marion County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Police said the victim is no longer a student at Fort McCoy Middle School, but did not state why he left.
A school official told News 6 that the district wasn’t made aware of the allegation until after Carsey was arrested, but do not believe the incidents took place on school property.
