Several hours after his release, cops in Phoenix spotted Malzahn driving Gorospe’s white Toyota RAV4, roughly 20 miles away from where he allegedly committed his string of crimes
An acquaintance who drove in the vehicle with the suspect later told police there was blood on the center console, interior passenger door, sunroof and visor area as well as the interior door panel
Malzahn refused to provide information on the whereabouts of Gorospe

Authorities in Arizona suspect recently discovered remains belong to a Glendale kindergarten teacher, who went missing after bailing a man out of jail.
One week after Cathryn Gorospe went missing, Sgt. Cory Runge of the Flagstaff Police announced: “At approximately 5:00 today, we found the remains of a person that’s a female that we believe to be Cathryn Gorospe,” said Sgt. Cory Runge with the Flagstaff Police Department, Friday
CBS 5 reports that authorities confirmed a romantic relationship had existed between Gorospe, 44, and person of interest in the case, Charlie Malzahn.
Gorospe was last seen Oct. 6 before her drive from Phoenix to a Flagstaff jail where she bailed out 27-year-old Malzahn.
Her roommate reported the Arrowhead Elementary teacher missing two days later, explaining to authorities it was unusual for her to leave without making arrangements for her dog, Arizona Central reported.

Malzahn had been arrested October 2, in connection with a series of crimes in the area , after Arizona State University confirmed a man matching Malzahn’s description assaulted a student in her dorm.
Authorities believe that Malzahn who is the step son of Williams’ chief of police, then attempted a carjacking. The driver told police she was threatened by a man armed with a crowbar who stole her keys and fled in her vehicle.
The car and the owner’s possessions were eventually recovered.

Several hours later, Police in Phoenix spotted Malzahn driving Gorospe’s white Toyota RAV4, roughly 20 miles away from where he allegedly committed his string of crimes.
Flagstaff police later spoke with an acquaintance who reportedly drove in the vehicle with Malzahn. He told officials there was blood on the center console, interior passenger door, sunroof and visor area as well as the interior door panel, according to Arizona Central.
Malzahn refused to provide information on the whereabouts of the missing teacher, investigators said earlier this week.

After authorities released a statement saying they believe they’ve found Gorospe’s remains, on Friday, Sgt. Cory Runge added that the victim’s identity is pending a positive identification.
Police say they arrested Malzahn in Phoenix after he was found to be driving Gorospe’s car. Malzahn remains in jail on multiple charges in unrelated cases.
