Steve Marks, 31, remains held on $1 million bail at the Rockwall County Jail after he was arrested with other family members for pimping out his young daughter, WFAA reported.
ā€œA person that really does that needs to be put away for the rest of their life if they do that to their child.ā€
Marks, who was arrested Wednesday, told the station from inside the jail. ā€œI don’t think a father who loves his children, fights for custody for his children … I love them, I would die for them. I have no reason to sell my children.ā€

Marks and his wife, Lila Mary Miller, 26, were arrested on charges of selling a child for sexual performance. Miller was also held on $1 million bail.
Marks’ parents, Davey and Dorthy, were also collared in the bust and being held on $15,000 bail on charges of harboring a runaway child and interfering with child custody, jail records show.
Marks said he has seven children, ranging in age from 1 to 14. Some of his children were taken into custody by child welfare authorities several months ago after testing positive for marijuana, including one child as young as 3. Authorities later confirmed to the station that at least three of Marks’ children had been previously removed from his home and subsequently placed in foster care.

DPS arrested Marks on Jan. 24., his wife and his parents were arrested a day later. Marks said he has seven kids, ranging in age from one to 14. He said some of them were taken into CPS custody months ago because they tested positive for marijuana, with one being as young as three.
The child removal Miller he believes, happened because his daughter was smoking marijuana in his home with her boyfriend, and the younger children experienced second-hand smoke.
Marks claims, his daughter ran away from CPS custody with her boyfriend and may have gone to Chicago. Marks said he went to look for her and alerted officers that she was in Chicago.
WFAA reports that CPS confirms Marks has a history with them and at least three of his children have been previously removed and placed in foster care.
He said, he would never sell a child for sex.
Authorities have declined providing details because the case is under investigation.
