A Massachusetts man accused of stabbing his parents at a restaurant during a family party is now also charged with his girlfriend’s murder.
Benjamin Walsh, 24, was arraigned from his hospital bed Monday after police say he killed his girlfriend and then stabbed his parents at a restaurant Saturday night, WBZ reports.
Police say Walsh stabbed his girlfriend, 20-year-old Olivia Bergstrom, in their apartment in Needham before going to a restaurant in Millis where he was meeting his parents for a family celebration.
Walsh entered Primavera restaurant armed with a knife and began yelling profanities at his mother, Laura Walsh, before allegedly lunging and stabbing her in the stomach, the outlet reports.
Walsh then allegedly stabbed his father, Michael Walsh, also in the stomach.
After the attack Walsh was held to the ground by multiple people while other restaurant patrons and employees tried to give medical assistance to his parents.
When police arrived and attempted to put Walsh into handcuffs, he became even more combative and allegedly screamed “F— you b—-, I’m going to kill you all,” police told Masslive.
Police noted at the time that Walsh’s hands were covered in blood, the outlet reports.
Both parents were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Laura Walsh, 53, remains in serious condition at Brigham and Women’s hospital. Michael Walsh, 53 was treated and released, WBZ reports.
As police gained control of the scene at the restaurant, family members became concerned about Walsh’s girlfriend, which led to police conducting a welfare check on the couple’s apartment.
When police arrived they found Bergstrom dead from multiple stab wounds.
