Beverly Hills dentist arrested for strangling his mother ‘for financial gain’, four months after he and his sister reported they ‘found her dead while checking in on her’

She was discovered unconscious and not breathing inside her $7 million Beverly Hills home later that afternoon by Daniel and his sister, according to ABC 7.
The siblings had gone to check in on her after they were unable to reach her for several hours, police said.

She was discovered unconscious and not breathing inside her Beverly Hills home later that afternoon by Daniel and his sister. Yacobi was arrested on Tuesday, roughly four months after his mother’s death.
On Oct. 10, 2017, Beverly Hills officers responded to Violet Yacobi’s home to a report of a medical emergency. the home owner was not breathing, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
After Yacobi’s death, her 36-year-old dentist son, Daniel, took to social media, calling her an amazing mother and saying not a day goes by that he doesn’t think of her.
On the contrary police believe he’s the one who killed her and the motive was money. Detectives say the wealthy grandmother was strangled.
“The crime was committed with the motivation of financial gain, and certainly that’s very disturbing in this situation,” said Lt. Elisabeth Albanese with Beverly Hills police.
Daniel Yacobi is a dentist with several offices in Southern California, including one in Sherman Oaks. On his website, he boasts he creates beautiful smiles, and he has photos with some of his clients, including actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

Immediately after the death Daniel, 36, took to social media to share his grief, praising his mother as amazing and saying a day doesn’t go by when he doesn’t think of her.
‘Mom I love you and miss you dearly. No words can express what you mean to me,’ he wrote. He expressed similar sentiments in a post on January 8, what would have been Violet’s 68th birthday.
But police believe the words are empty, and that he murdered his mother to collect her life insurance money.
‘The crime was committed with the motivation of financial gain, and certainly that’s very disturbing in this situation,’ Lt Albanese told ABC.
As part of their investigation, detectives employed high-tech forensics to search through computers and electronic devices. that shed clues pointing to the son.
“A homicide investigation was initiated that same night, and as they began to work through their investigation and talk to witness and uncovered some evidence. That’s what led them to believe that her son was the suspect in the homicide,” Lt. Albanese said.

The 36-year-old posted on what would have been his mother’s 68th birthday in January to say how much he missed her. He has entered a not-guilty plea and is currently being held without bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
