The Alabama housewife was found dead after leading a second life online. She was last seen alive, laughing in a liquor store hours before her body was found. Hours earlier, Kathleen “Kitty Kat” West was seen purchasing a bottle of absinthe at R&R Wine and Liquor in Calera, according to surveillance video obtained by Inside Edition.
Less than eight hours later she was found outside her home by a neighbor’s daughter in Calera on Jan. 13. She was wearing only a sports bra, despite temperatures being in the low 30s, with blood dripping out of her head, AL.com reported, citing a witness.
Police found a cell phone next to her body and also a bottle of alcohol known as Lucid, a type of absinthe.
She had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

William Jeffery West, was arrested Thursday after the warrant was issued on Wednesday. He remains in the Shelby County Jail with bond set at $500,000.

The warrant states Jeff West did, “with the intent to cause the death of another person…caused the death of Kathleen Dawn West.” who subsequently died from blunt force trauma to the head, police said.
The warrant however, did not say whether the deadly assault happened inside of the home, or outside on the street where her body was found.
According to the charging documents, Kat West was killed Friday, Jan. 12. Her body was discovered about 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, by a 19-year-old neighbor who was on her way to work at a fast-food restaurant. The victim was wearing only a sports bra. A cell phone was nearby with a green bottle on top of it, which witnesses said appeared staged.

Kathleen was found dead lying face down across the street from her home on the morning of January 13 when a neighbor left for work. She was partially clothed with her cell phone placed beside her lifeless body and an empty bottle of absinthe balanced on top of it, the same brand she was seen purchasing from a liquor store with her husband Jeff, six hours earlier. Police had ruled her death a homicide at the time.
Five weeks on, police arrived at the property Thursday morning to take her 44-year-old husband, a former US military policeman and campus security guard, into custody on a murder charge.

Jeff West who has never commented publicly on his wife’s murder and invited only a tiny group of relations to her funeral last month before she was buried in an unmarked grave. In conversations with friends, however, he insisted the death was purely an accident and he never had a problem with his wife’s online activities.
One close confidante, Mike Waters, wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post: ‘I was able to talk to my friend Jeff last night in length. In the upcoming days true facts will be coming out. And everybody will find out that this was a terrible accident, that involved excessive alcohol consumption …. Absinthe!’

Some people close to the couple insisted jeff West knew his wife was an online seductress and even ‘got off’ on the notion she was desired by countless men.
‘She was a sweet lady who was fun, playful and loved to tease either sex,’ dished the source. ‘I know Jeff was well aware of whatever it was she or they were doing.’
Kat and her husband were last seen together the night before her death buying the absinthe at a local liquor store.
The video from their last pit stop at the A&R liqour store, posted by Inside Edition showed the two looking relaxed and ‘normal’ inside the business. They were shopping and laughing inside a liquor store at 8:40 p.m., eight hours before the discovery of her body. As they leave the liquor store, Jeff is seen giving Kat a playful pat on her behind.
Police Chief Sean Lemley said that the couple seemed happy in the video, but “unfortunately domestic [cases] turn bad very quickly. Anything can trigger them. You get into an argument, it can turn bad quickly,” but did not say what caused the couple to fight.

By 5am the next day, the stay-at-home mom, also a member of a subscription site for desirable over-35-year-old women called ‘The Cougar Club,’ was found dead in the street in just a sports bra.
She was face down in a pool of blood and the cause of her death was thought to be a suspected blunt trauma head wound.
Locals told the AL.com website that West emerged from his home, asked what was going on and showed little emotion when informed his wife was dead – before stubbing out his cigarette and going inside.
With police not releasing any immediate details of a potential suspect or indicating that Kat may have been hit by a car, suspicion soon centered on her husband who declined repeated requests for comment.
The couple’s 12-year-old daughter was not at home when the killing took place, police said.
The killing spawned several online Facebook groups and local ‘web sleuths’ took to posting photos of West’s every movements online, feverishly speculating that he butchered his wife after discovering her raunchy online antics.
But in truth the housewife had done little to hide her activities, posting links to her paid-for material on Twitter and saying on Instagram just six days before her death: ‘Happy sinful Sunday. New pics up on site. Please check out my subscription.’
