Teen wanted for shooting two dead in ‘family’ incident inside Central Michigan University residence hall, Friday morning
The school is on lockdown as police continue to hunt for the suspect, who has been identified as 19-year-old James Eric Davis Jr.
James Davis, Sr. and his wife, Diva Davis, were fatally shot Friday, by their Eric during a campus visit
Davis is described as a black male who is about five-foot-10 and has short hair, last seen wearing yellow jeans and a blue hoodie
The school said the two victims were not students and that police ‘believe the situation started from a domestic situation’ – Victims allegedly were the shooter’s parents
Davis was hospitalized last night for what appeared to be an ‘overdose or bad reaction’ to drugs

Gunshots fired in a hall of residence at Central Michigan University on friday morning  has forced the school to go on lockdown is on lockdown. Two people were shot dead in a dorm by a man who remains at large.  Sources say the victims were the shooter’s parents.
The victims were shot on the fourth floor of Campbell Hall, a co-ed residence hall, around 8:30am. A school spokesman said the two victims were not students and that no other people were injured.

The shooting is being described as a ‘family-type domestic’ incident, campus police said at an afternoon press conference.  Police couldn’t give any more information on the victims, but the Detroit Free Press reports that the fatalities are the parents of the shooter.
The gunman’s father, James Davis, Sr., was a part-time police officer police and his mother, Diva Davis, was a real estate broker, according to authorities.
Police have swarmed the Mt Pleasant campus looking for the gunman, who was last seen running north, away from the dorm. They believe that he is somewhere within the city limits.
The incident occurred on the last day of classes before spring break and many parents were headed to the school to pick up their kids for the break. Parents were advised to stay away from the campus until calm returned.

The suspect has been identified as James Eric Davis Jr., a 19-year-old black man. Davis is about five-foot-10, has a slight build, short hair and was last seen wearing yellow jeans, a blue hoodie, and a pistol tucked into his belt. However, it’s unclear what he is wearing now since officers found several items of clothing along a set of railroad tracks near the scene.

Classes have been cancelled and students have been ordered to shelter in place while police continue to search for the gunman

The shooter is described as a black male. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

As police hunted for the gunman on he ground, a helicopter hovered overhead.
He should be considered armed and dangerous, local police say.
Police said they had contact with him late Thursday night and took him to a local hospital, where he was turned over to the medical staff for what police believe may have been some sort of drug-related issue. Davis Jr. was released from a hospital this morning just before 8am.
