<p> 69-year-old Tenhulzen, a transient who was walking on the <a href="https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Oceanside-Trial-for-Suspect-Accused-of-Driving-With-Body-Lodged-in-Car-406830415.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sidewalk of Mission Avenue in Oceanside</a> was struck with such force, the impact stripped him of his clothes and severed his leg. The appendage flew through the back window and landed on the trunk of the car, police said.</p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="1">Sanchez continued driving with the man she hit lodged in her windshield. The rest of his body was sent flying through the windshield, where he remained lodged as she drove for about a mile before she parked and left the scene, police said.</p>

Sanchez subsequently abandoned the car on the street near her home. before walking into her house and changing her clothes, like nothing happened. Jack Tenhulzen bled to death inside Sanchez’s abandoned car.<br />
Two hours after the crash, the suspect had blood-alcohol levels of between .18 and .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08. She admitted to the police that she had been drinking o the night.<br />
Deputy District Attorney Aimee McLeod called Sanchez &#8220;a great danger to the public.&#8217;<br />
The jury deliberated for a day before finding Sanchez guilty of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit and run with death or permanent serious injury.<br />
Sanchez faces up to 15 years in prison. She is set to be sentenced May 31.</p>
