Officials said she “had a blanket covering her [with] many bruises on the face and body [and] She had been dead for several hours”

Kevin Smitham, 51, had been staying with wife Kanda and her parents in Thailand’s north east Isan region during the Thai new year holiday when the incident happened March 15 night

Smitham reportedly, in a fit of drunken jealous rage, accused his wife of cheating on him when she refused to have sex

Kevin allegedly kicked Kanda to death before covering her body with a blanket and then calmly going to bed

A British man has been arrested for allegedly kicking his wife to death when she refused to have sex with him  authorities in Thailand said, accused his 29-year-old wife of having an affair during the Thai songkran holiday, before he killed her

Kevin Smitham, 51, and wife Kanda, 29, reportedly had travelled from their residence in Pattaya to the country’s north east region to spend the holidays with her parents in Ubon Ratchathani during the Thai new year holiday when the incident happened after a boozy Sunday night.
Smitham is said to have flown into a drunken jealous rage, accusing his wife of cheating on him when she refused to have sex. He escalated the argument and kicked her to death before covering her body with a blanket and then calmly going to bed.
Shocked neighbours are reported to have seen the body early Monday morning and called authorities.

Police said they arrived and found fitness fanatic Kanda’s body, in only a pair of knickers – on the ground in front of the family’s single-storey home at 6.30am today local time.
Officers said they found Kevin standing by the side of the building, and that he had allegedly confessed that he had repeatedly kicked Kanda to death.
Inspector General Watcharapol Pimwong, Deputy Chief of Staff in the Det Udom district, said today that Kevin had been arrested and was in custody.
He said: “I arrived and found a woman lying naked in front of the house and called officials from the rescue foundation. The woman was Kanda Smitham, age 29.
“The victim had a blanket covering her. There were many bruises on the face and body. She had been dead for several hours.”

Thai press has reported that the couple had lived together in Pattaya and had three children together.
They had been visiting Kanda’s relatives in Thailand’s north east Isan region during the songkran new year holiday.
They had stayed up late on Sunday drinking beer before the pair got into a row, say police.
Police also said they found Kevin this morning standing by the side of the building and that he was “hung over” after spending the previous night drinking.
Inspector General Pimwong added: “The victim’s husband confessed to killing his wife. He said that he did not mean to kill her.
“Last night he and his wife had beer until late at night. He went to sleep in the house. During the drinking and eating, suddenly they started arguing because he wanted to have sex.

Kevin reportedly accused his much younger wife Kanda [seen here with of  their babies], of having an affair

“His wife refused and this caused jealousy. He thought that the wife had been courting other men.
“He said he attack her with his foot, kicked her to face and body several times.
“The wife ran away from home and fell in front of the house. He left his wife like that by covering the blanket to cover it. Then went to bed.”
Officers have sent Kanda’s body for a post-mortem examination to find the cause of death.
It is reported that Kevin is being held in custody while police continue to investigate.
