Lesley Setanay told police he was sorry, and he had been ‘awoken by demons’ when he fatally attacked Krystal Phillips on Saturday
Police were called to Satenay Eatonville home on Saturday morning to reports of a dead body, WFTV reported.
Eatonville Police said they were called to a home on Deacon Jones Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived, Satenay, 40, who was standing on the porch told officers that, “the devil was inside his room,” according to court documents.
Inside, his 30-year-old girlfriend Krystal Phillips, a mother-of-one, was lying in a bedroom, having been allegedly beaten to death with a pipe. She was pronounced dead at the scene
Police also found a blood-spattered bible and a frying pan near her body.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said Phillips suffered blunt force trauma.
He thought Phillips had left the home before he woke up believing there were demons in his room, Setanay claims.
Satenay allegedly told police he had swung a knife towards the ‘demon’, and thought he ‘struck a big person’ before striking Phillips three more times with a frying pan.
He explained the demons were ‘big’ but Phillips, 30, was ‘a little person’, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
