Malcolm McGregor was found when images of his marriage to Bell Valek in Utah were posted online

A British man reported missing by his partner of 27 years turned up days later, married to another woman in Utah.
Decorator Malcolm McGregor, 38, told childhood sweetheart Cheryl Cowie he was visiting a relative 34 miles away. Instead he flew 4,568 miles to marry Bell Valek, 35.
Malcolm McGregor’s long-term partner Cheryl Cowie, 37, reported him missing when he failed to return from a short trip.
The family called filed a missing person’s report after  he vanished from the home he shared with Cowie in Motherwell, Scotland.

McGregor’s new hideout was discovered when he posed in wedding snaps posted online a few days after cops were alerted to his disappearance.
Friends said Cheryl was clearly in anguish after seeing the marriage PDAs showing her partner with his new wife who had taken his surname.
A friend of Cowie’s said: “To say his family are devastated is an understatement.
“They just don’t know what’s got into him.”
McGregor, who has two kids with Cheryl, said he was going to Kilmarnock on July 20 but failed to return home to Motherwell.

Malcolm and Bell reportedly met on Facebook a couple of years ago, but tied the knot just days after his arrival in the US in July

Police established the supposedly missing man had traveled “overseas” and was “safe and well”
Still “Cheryl couldn’t get hold of him anywhere,” source close to the pair said.
“His car was supposedly dumped near his sister’s home and police were looking everywhere.
“Then they came to tell her that Malcolm had been in touch saying he was safe, so they could do no more.”
It is believed McGregor got to know Bell using his private Facebook account and may have been in touch with her for “as long as two years”.

It is believed Malcolm met Bell on Facebook. A friend speculates that Bell, his new: “wife has Mormon stuff over her Facebook, so maybe that has affected him.”
