A Wisconsin woman scammed an elderly man out of nearly $5,000 and secretly recorded him performing a sex act on her, footage she sent him when he demanded some of the money back, authorities said.
The 25-year-old woman from Brown Deer, reportedly began a relationship with a septuagenarian from New Berlin and secretly recorded a sex tape of them together.
Shatarra Rodgers, of Brown Deer, met the 78-year-old New man at an assisted living facility where she worked and the man’s wife lived prior to her death late last year.
Rodgers, who worked as a residential assistant at the Heritage at Deer Creek facility in New Berlin, regularly met with the man when he visited his wife, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
She is now facing six felony charges filed April 18 in Waukesha County Circuit Court, mostly in connection with separate identity theft incidents against the man, that occurred in March.
The man acknowledged that he would occasionally give her money for gas and food as their relationship grew. Eventually, he noticed large amounts of money were being drawn through unauthorized checks written from his account.
Rodgers then told the man “I needed it” when he confronted her about a $900 check. Rodgers later sent him a cellphone video of the man performing oral sex on her when he demanded that the cash be returned, according to the criminal complaint.
The man then notified police, setting off an investigation into the alleged recorded sex act and other suspicious transactions in his checking and other bank accounts, including a $130 fee to pay for a bail bond on an outstanding warrant when Rodgers appeared on pending, unrelated felony charges.
Rodgers, who admitted when she was arrested on April 16 to making several of those transactions, including one to pay her rent, said the man had previously authorized her to use his checks to pay for her student loans, according to the complaint.
Court records obtained by WITI show that more than $1,000 was stolen from the accounts to pay for Rodgers’ rent, a visit to a spa and purchases on Amazon. She was also caught on surveillance footage at a bank in Mequon while cashing a $200 check stolen from the man, according to the station.
Rodgers is now facing charges of identity theft for financial gain, theft of movable property and capturing an intimate representation without consent.
If convicted on all counts, she faces more than 27 years in prison and $60,000 in fines.
Due to a pending identity theft case against her, she also faces a felony charge of bail jumping as a result of the latest allegations.
