‘Rodney Puckett was filmed rolling the body of Linda Puckett out of a Texas hotel into his van. She’d filed for divorce in February, had protection order against him’

Rodney Puckett, 70, was arrested Monday after police found the corpse of his estranged wife Linda in the passenger seat of his car during a traffic stop in Eloy, Arizona more than 1,000 miles from their home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 

Rodney was only wearing underpants and 74-year-old Linda Puckett’s completely naked corpse was upside down in the passenger seat

The suspect claimed the couple, who live in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, were on a road trip when he found Linda unresponsive at a hotel in El Paso, Texas 

Police obtained video of him rolling her body out of a hotel in Texas to the car on a luggage cart, five hours earlier 

A fast food worker in Eloy alerted police when she noticed the completely naked woman in Rodney’s car as he went through the drive-thru wearing only his underpants 

Linda’s body was turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examine to determine the cause of death

Officials said there were signs of blunt force trauma on her body. – 
Eloy Police and Texas authorities will determine if Linda’s death was a homicide

Linda filed for divorce in February after an 8-year marriage, and had a protection order against Rodney

He is currently being held at Pinal County Jail on a charge of abandonment or concealment of a body.

A 70-year-old Oklahoma man who was found driving through Arizona with his wife’s naked corpse in the passenger seat was filmed rolling her out of a Texas hotel after he claims he found her unresponsive.
Rodney Puckett was only wearing underpants when he was pulled over by police in Eloy, Arizona, on Monday and an officer noticed the dead body in the front seat.
The deceased was identified as Rodney’s 74-year-old estranged wife Linda Puckett.

Her body was upside down, with her head resting in the wheel well and legs up in the air, according to police.
Authorities were tipped off to the situation after an employee at a Carl’s Jr fast food joint in Eloy reported serving a pair of naked customers at the drive-thru.
‘I so happened to look on the passenger side and that’s when I seen he had the lady in there, she was like completely naked,’ employee Maria Davis told ABC15.
‘The way she was face down, like laying down, and then I seen the color of her feet were like purple.’

Rodney told police that the couple, who live in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, were on a road trip when he found Linda unresponsive at a hotel in El Paso, Texas.
He said he moved her body into the car and continued driving toward their destination in California.
Police obtained a video which reportedly shows Rodney rolling his wife’s blanketed body out of the hotel on a luggage cart.

Eloy is nearly 370 miles from El Paso, an approximately five-and-a-half hour drive.

‘I have been in law enforcement and with the Eloy Police Department for 17 years and this is the most bizarre case I have ever seen in Eloy,’ Sgt Kristie Barnette said.
“He tried to wake her, couldn’t wake her up, he loaded her onto a luggage cart and proceeded to place her in his vehicle,”  Barnette said.

Linda’s body was turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examine to determine the cause of death.

Officials said there were signs of blunt force trauma on her body. 

The Eloy Police Department and Texas authorities have teamed up to determine whether she was the victim of a homicide. 

Rodney is currently being held at Pinal County Jail on a charge of abandonment or concealment of a body.

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges may be filed against him at a later date.
Rodney and Linda had been married since 2011 and were in the middle of a divorce.
Linda filed for divorce and sought a protective order against her husband earlier this year.
According to the Arizona outlet, Rodney was reported missing in April and a Silver Alert was issued, stating that he had bipolar disorder.
The alert was canceled when authorities learned that he hadn’t been heard from because he was in a Kansas jail for eluding police.

 Linda was issued a protective order from her husband on Feb. 6 and it was continued Monday, records show. Linda filed for divorce on Feb. 8. Rodney also had an order of protection against Puckett, according to a probable cause statement by Eloy police.
Rodney was booked into Pinal County Jail for abandonment or concealment of a body.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed later.
