The District Attorney’s office at a press conference Thursday, said that based on their investigation so far, they believe the alleged sexual assault Officer Ruiz is accused of may not be his first offense.
They believe there may be more victims out there & are asking them to please come forward.
Ruiz graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2017, according to his bio on the department’s website. He then joined the Arcola Police Department as a reserve officer in March 2018, becoming a full-time police officer in September last year.
His bond was set at a total of $400,000. He remains in jail as of late Thursday morning.
