<div>Authorities in Alabama are searching for a man suspected of shooting dead his estranged wife, her sister and the sister&#8217;s boyfriend before going on the run with another woman.<br />
Decatur police said Carson Ray Peters, 58, has three capital murder warrants out for his arrest, and that both he and his suspected travel companion, April Hanner, should be considered &#8216;armed and dangerous.&#8217;<br />
Court documents have revealed that Peters and his estranged wife, Teresa, were in the middle of a divorce at the time of the triple homicide.<br />
Teresa Peters had filed a motion for her estranged husband to be held in contempt of court three days before he killed her in a shooting rampage.</div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">When police entered the residence, they found three people dead from gunshot wounds. A fourth victim was airlifted to a hospital with injuries.<br />
Authorities have identified the deceased as Carson Peters&#8217; estranged wife, 54-year-old Teresa Peters, her sister, Tammy Smith, 50, and Smith&#8217;s boyfriend, 55-year-old James Miller. Teresa&#8217;s Mother was also injured<br />
Carson had filed for divorce from Teresa in January and moved out of their home, news outlets reported.<br />
Court documents show Teresa filed a motion on May 21 to hold Carson in contempt of court, claiming he locked her personal belongings and the air conditioning units from their home inside a shed and left with the key.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Teresa&#8217;s grown daughter confirmed the killings in a status update on Monday, writing that her mother, aunt and the aunt&#8217;s boyfriend were shot and killed, and that her grandmother has been hospitalized.<br />
&#8216;We were all supposed to spend the day together today for my mom&#8217;s birthday right now,&#8217; wrote her daughter, adding that her &#8216;momma&#8217; was her best friend who was always there for her.<br />
Teresa&#8217;s other daughter wrote: &#8216;My mom was the most loving person. She seen [sic] the good in everybody no matter what. She was the best mom anybody could ask for.&#8217;<br />
Her third daughter wrote separately of the triple homicide: &#8216;How can a coward think he has the right to take 3 amazing people from our lives&#8230;&#8217;<br />
Teresa Peters is survived by her grown children and several grandchildren, one of whom is battling cancer.</p>

The station <a class="class" href="https://www.waff.com/2020/05/26/court-records-show-wanted-morgan-co-man-had-violent-past-with-former-wife/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">WAFF</a> has uncovered court documents saying that Carson Peters&#8217; earlier marriage ended in a divorce in 2014 after his former wife, Kim, accused him of domestic abuse.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">In court filings, Kim Peters described Carson as being ‘obsessively jealous and very controlling.’ It is reported that the then couple got into an argument and he physically attacked Kim.</span></div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font"><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Peters reported filed for divorce from Teresa in January.. </span>Police said in a Facebook post on Monday that they have received information indicating Peters &#8216;and any other persons of interest&#8217; may have left the Danville-Neel area.<br />
Carson Peters is described as standing at 5 feet 7 inches in height and weighing 190lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.<br />
His female companion April Hanner is described as being 4-foot-11 and 110lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Peters and Hanner are possibly driving a black 2013 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck with Alabama license plates 52GL447.<br />
As of Tuesday afternoon, both Peters and Hanner remained at large.</p>
