Two police officers were also seen escorting a shirtless Alissa, who hd stripped down to his shorts, with blood running down his leg out of the grocery store in handcuffs

Ten people were killed Monday afternoon by a gunman who opened fire at a Colorado grocery store as video captured multiple victims lying wounded inside and outside the supermarket. 
The deceased victims, including one police officer, were shot just before 3pm local time at a King Soopers grocery store located at 3600 Table Mesa Drive. Boulder is located about 25 miles northwest of Denver.
The gunman responsible for the mass shooting has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa. He has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and one charge of attempted murder.
Police have still not yet confirmed that he was the man who was seen being led out of the grocery store in handcuffs, bleeding from the leg.  
The victims have been identified as Denny Strong, 20, Nevin Statinsky, 23, Ricky Olds, 25, Suzanne Fountain, 59, Terry Licher, 51, police officer Eric Talley, 51, Kevin Mahoney, 61, Lynn Murray, 62, Jodie Waters, 65.

Alissa at 2.40pm on monday opened fire on King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, killing ten people. The warrant described the shooter as being armed with either an assault rifle or “black AR-15” and wearing a “tactical” or “armored” vest.
The suspect had “removed all of his clothing and was dressed only in shorts” when he was taken into custody, the affidavit said. According to the document, as the suspect was being led outside the store, he refused to tell police if there were other accomplicess.
Using law enforcement databases, the affidavit said, investigators determined Alissa had purchased a Ruger AR556 pistol on March 16.

The gunman who was injured in the leg during a shootout with police was taken into custody about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
A short time later, two police officers were seen escorting a shirtless man with blood running down his leg out of the grocery store in handcuffs. He was transported to a hospital, where he was in stable condition, police said.
He was booked into Boulder County Jail early Tuesday afternoon and has been charged but his motive remains unknown.
Shortly after learning of the incident, Colorado Gov Jared Polis said in a statement: ‘My heart is breaking as we watch this unspeakable event unfold in our Boulder community. We are making every public safety resource available to assist the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department as they work to secure the store. I’m incredibly grateful to the brave men and women who have responded to the scene to help the victims of this senseless tragedy.’

The governor continued: ‘This is very much an active situation and we continue to monitor very closely. We ask for your patience as law enforcement works tirelessly to secure the site. Right now, the biggest priority is to let local law enforcement and the City of Boulder do their work to ensure the safety of those involved.’
Boulder Mayor Sam Weaver said that ‘words can do no justice to the tragedy that has unfolded this afternoon’.
‘Our community will soon grieve our losses, and begin our healing. Our brave police officers and first responders have the gratitude of our entire city.’
White House press secretary Jen Psaki shared Monday evening that President Joe Biden ‘has been briefed on the shooting in Colorado and he will be kept up to date by his team as there are additional developments’.

One video of the incident from YouTube shows two victims lying on the ground in the parking lot of the store.
At least one victim is seen lying on the floor inside the store just moments before more gunshots are heard. Local reports say one victim is a police officer.  
Television helicopter video showed law enforcement vehicles and officers massing outside, including SWAT teams, and at least three helicopters on the roof of the store in Boulder, about 25 miles northwest of Denver.
Just before 4.30pm local time, Boulder police tweeted: ‘Please avoid the area of Table Mesa & Broadway! This is still a very active scene. Do NOT broadcast on social media any tactical information you might see.

‘We will continue to tweet updates as we have them. If you live nearby please stay inside for now.’
About 45 minutes later, police tweeted: ‘Emergency notification just went out: Boulder police asking people near 17th and Grove to shelter in place while they respond to report of armed, dangerous individual’. 
‘PD is investigating to determine if this is related to King Soopers shooting.’ 
Officers had their guns drawn, and some windows at the front of the store were broken. 
Authorities over a loudspeaker said the building was surrounded and that ‘you need to surrender.’ They said to come out with hands up and unarmed.
An ambulance pulled away from the store, apparently carrying the bleeding man brought out of the store in handcuffs.  Minutes after the man was escorted from the store, a line of people escorted to safety by officers.

The mass shooting supect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, who was born on April 17, 1999, attended Arvada West High School starting in March 2015 until he graduated in May 2018, according to Jeffco Public Schools.Alissa, whose family emigrated from Syria, may have been suffering from mental illness, according to his 34-year-old brother, Ali Aliwi Alissa.
The brother told CNN Tuesday that in high school bullies made fun of Alissa’s name and for being Muslim andthat may have contributed to him becoming “anti-social.” Ha had become increasingly “paranoid” around 2014, believing he was being followed and chased.
At one point, the young man covered the camera on his computer with duct tape so he could not be seen, said the brother, who lives with Alissa: “He always suspected someone was behind him, someone was chasing him,” Ali Alissa said.
“We kept a close eye on him when he was in high school.”
He would say, ‘Someone is chasing me, someone is investigating me.’ And we’re like, ‘Come on man. There’s nothing.’ … He was just closing into himself,” the brother added.

Police quizzed the shooters two brothers and searched their home in the predawn hours on Tuesday.
The family emigrated from Syria in 2002, the brother said. They lived in the Arvada area since 2014.
Ahmad Alissa was not very political or particularly religious, according to one of his brothers, who said he never heard the young man threaten to use violence: “The entire thing surprised me,” Ali Alissa said of the Monday’s shootings.
“I never ever would have thought he would do such a thing. I never thought he would kill. I still can’t believe it. I am really sad for the lives that he wasted, and I feel sorry for all those families … We lost a brother even if he is the killer.”
Aside from a knife he used for cooking, Ali Alissa said he did not known his brother to carry a firearm or any other weapon.
Confirming that the handcuffed man seen in footage bleeding from his leg and being led away from the shooting scene was his brother, Ali Alissa said he doesn’t know why his brother went to King Soopers on Monday.
Facebook has shut down Facebook and Instagram accounts belonging to the suspect, a company spokesperson said Tuesday.
The suspect has made statements to investigators:”We’re collecting those statements now and we’ll be providing those in the weeks ahead,” police said.
