A Florida bride and the woman who catered her wedding reception have been charged after drugs found in foo served at the wedding made many guests sick.
The Seminole County bride and her caterer were busted for spiking food served at a February wedding reception with pot, including weed-laced lasagna, officials said.
The otherwise joyous occasion ended in confusion, terror and stupor after the nearly 70 guests, including elderly couples on medication, were served bread, pasta and desserts laced with marijuana.

After eating the marijuana baked goods at the February 19 nuptials, several guests at the Longwood, Fla. bash suddenly felt staggered and stoned and called 911, according to ABC 9.
“I think some people thought they were having heart attacks,” said attendee Miranda Cad
Some guests were so overcome by the edibles that they began vomiting and demanded transport to a local hospital. At least eight people were transported hospital, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.


Other guests started telling first responders the food was laced with marijuana.
The bride, Danya Shea Svoboda, 42, and caterer Joycelyn Montrinice Bryant, 31, have been charged with delivering marijuana, tampering with guests’ food and misdemeanor culpable negligence after guests fell ill from the drugged dinner.
Deputies linked the 42-year-old bride Danya Shea Svoboda and the caterer Jocelyn Bryant, 31, to the scheme through interviews with witnesses and other caterers who and the woman who served items at the bash.
The sheriff’s office said they approached Svoboda and another person and asked them if they put cannabis in the food at the wedding. Both interviewees told deputies they didn’t.
However, a report from the sheriff’s office said food items at the wedding were tested positive for the drug.


The bride, Danya Shea Svoboda, denied having requested the marijuana-based recipes and cops said the catering crew had already left the premises.
Several irate attendees pursued the case and investigators collected samples of everything from the lasagna and brownies to the chocolate-covered strawberries and alcoholic pudding shots.
After a probe, deputies arrested Glenny and caterer Jocelyn Bryant of Jocelyn’s Southern Kitchen in connection with the incident.
Now, the bride and the caterer, Joycelyn Bryant, are being charged with tampering, negligence and delivery of marijuana. The tampering charge alone carries a maximum punishment of up to 30 years in prison.
