Husband stabs off-duty NYPD cop to death while their kid is out of town

An off-duty NYPD officer with the department’s transit bureau officer was found stabbed to death inside a Bronx apartment early Monday, and her husband has surrendered in connection with her killing, two senior police officials say.
NYPD Officer Arianna Reyes-Gomez, 31, was stabbed multiple times all over her body inside her home on Grand Concourse near E. 156th St. at about 2:50 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022.
The off-duty officer was found in the Concourse section overnight, around 3 a.m., after police responded to a 911 call of a stabbing.
The three-year NYPD employee managed to call a relative, who was the one to make the 911 call to the Grand Concourse apartment. It was too late. The multiple stab wounds took a toll. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The cop’s 34-year-old ex-husband, Argenis de Jesus Baez Pizano, who lives elsewhere, later turned himself in and is being questioned, police said. Charges against him were pending.
Relatives said the couple were still married but had lived apart for eight months. Reyes-Gomez who joined the NYPD in April 2019 and was assigned to a transit district in Brooklyn, had a 3-year-old son with the suspect.
The couple’s son is currently out of the state with relatives, according to police
Pizano has no previous criminal history and a possible motive isn’t yet clear, but the couple allegedly were in argument before the knife attack.
