A young Texas mother has been arrested after launching a knife attack on her five young children, killing three, which a child protective services worker discovered while making a surprise visit to their home.
Shamaiya Hall, 25, was arrested after her children, a six-year-old and a set of 5-year-old twins, were found with knife wounds inside their home in Italy, Texas.
Two of the children, aged four years and 13 months, survived with stab wounds and were airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
Sources within the CPS say that Hall stabbed her children when the officer arrived at the property unannounced on Friday after suspecting she was having unsupervised visitations with them, reports WFAA.
They were under the guardianship of another relative, who has not been named, after being removed from Hall’s care by the CPS.

Ellis County sheriff’s deputies responded after the child protective services officer frantically called 911 for help on making the tragic discovery during their unexpected visit.
Hall was subsequently arrested about 11pm Friday night. The errant mother now facing three counts of capital murder, is in custody at the Ellis County Jail.
She reportedly did not live at the home in Italy, Texas, which is about 40 miles south of Dallas.
Following the horror, the CPS said in a statement: ‘We are shocked by this incomprehensible tragedy, and already working with law enforcement to investigate how this happened, and why.’

A relative who babysat the kids paid a heartbreaking tribute to the youngsters at the scene, saying she remembers holding them when they were babies.
‘I just want everyone to know they were beautiful angels,’ she said.
‘I loved them… they gained their wings. This is something, it hurts so bad.’
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and citizens of Italy,’ added Ellis County Judge Todd Little.

Local media report that Shamaiya Hall has a criminal history. This is not the first time she’s been arrested for allegedly stabbing someone, and it’s not the first alleged fatal stabbing tied to her family, either.
In 2017, Hall a resident of Forney, Texas, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her sister’s boyfriend.
Hall was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center and has been charged with three counts of capital murder.
A judge has issued $2 million bond for each charge, totaling $6 million.
Investigations into the incident are still ongoing, as law enforcement work to piece together how the tragedy was able to unfold.
