A 25-year-old Texas mother-of-two fatally stabbed her partner before attempting to stitch up his knife wounds, according to responding Houston police officers.
Liliana Cervantes, 25, was arrested Monday on charges she killed 32-year-old fiancé, Nathan Freeman, at the couple’s apartment on March 20.
Officers who responded to the scene in the 16300 block of Camino Real around 8:45 p.m. found Cervantes trying to sew up her mortally injured fiancé, authorities said. He was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Cervantes’ 4-year-old child from a previous relationship and a 6-month-old daughter she shared with Freeman were present in the apartment at the time of the killing.

Freeman’s mother, Tessa Freeman, told ABC13 that her son and Cervantes met through Facebook two years ago and later got engaged.
According to the Ms Freeman, Cervantes had already picked out a dress for Cervantes and Freeman’s wedding set for the fall: “My husband and I went to visit them for Thanksgiving, and they seemed perfectly happy. We had dinner with her parents and it was great,” she said.
Police have not revealed a motive behind the stabbing.
In her probable cause appearance Tuesday, it was alleged that Cervantes told police she blacked out during the stabbing. She came to, after having water splashed on her, but then blacked out a second time, a court officer said.

Records stated that police seized a butcher knife and another unspecified sharp object from the couple’s bloodstained apartment.
An autopsy showed that Freeman sustained three stab wounds, including one to the chest.

The victim’s mother, Tessa Freeman, said has said she is planning to fight for her infant granddaughter’s custody.
“That is the only thing I have from my son,” she said.
