In a motion filed to persuade a judge to keep Momeni in jail, Assistant District Attorney Omid Talai reconstructed law enforcement’s version of the deadly confrontation that left Lee spattering blood on the streets of a wealthy downtown neighborhood, and ultimately led police to arrest 38-year-old Momeni, a tech entrepreneur in Emeryville.
Officers said they arrived to the scene outside 365 Main Street at 2:35 a.m. on April 4, and found Lee, 43, bleeding “uncontrollably” from stab wounds in his chest and hip.

They later returned to Lee’s apartment on Mission Street, which he left at 12:30 a.m. on April 4, apparently to visit Momeni’s sister at her condominium in the Millenium Tower, the friend said, recalling a conversation he had with the sister later that morning, after the stabbing.
