A YouTube chef who allegedly murdered and dismembered his gay lover was caught on CCTV riding a scooter with his partner in the days leading up to the gruesome killing on Thailand’s Full Moon Party island.
Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, 29, who is the son of Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho Aguirre and actress Silvia Bronchalo, is accused of battering Colombian plastic surgeon Edwin Arrieta Arteaga to death on Koh Pha Ngnan last Wednesday.
The 44-year-old victim’s body parts, including his hips and thighs, were found by horrified locals at a rubbish dump on Thursday, August 3.
Social media star Sancho arrived in Thailand on July 31 as a tourist and killed his traveling companion on August 2. Police alleged that he confessed to killing Arrieta in an argument over ‘sex and money’. 
Sancho appeared before a court on Monday as police sought his continued detention for investigation, Police Major General Saranyu Chamnanrat said.

As Sancho was being escorted to and from court by police on Monday, and appeared to tell local reporters outside: ‘I am so sorry this happened. So sorry.’
He is in custody, where he is reportedly on suicide watch, and was seen over the weekend leading Thai police around areas of interest in relation to Arrieta’s death. 
Thai authorities allege the Daniel Sancho dismembered Arrieta’s body into 14 pieces, dumped the parts in the sea and other places around the island before filing a missing persons report.
He was detained shortly after body parts were found at a landfill on Koh Pha Ngan, an island well-known to tourists for monthly ‘full moon’ parties. Police say he has confessed to the crime.

The police said DNA tests of the remains proved them to be of Arrieta, adding they have other evidence against Sancho. CCTV footage aired by local broadcaster ThaiPBS showed Sancho and Arrieta on a motorcycle together days before the remains were discovered.
According to Police Lieutenant General Surapong Methanol, The suspect [Sancho], ‘has confessed to being the one who killed Edwin Arrieta Arteaga and dismembered the body. He put the parts in a suitcase and left them in the sea.
‘He claimed that the victim was angry when he refused to sleep with him. Then he punched him in the head, causing him to fall over and hit the bathtub, so he cut the body to disguise the death and put some parts into a travel bag. He also put some parts into plastic bags and he put in a garbage bin. The parts in the travel bag, he dumped in the sea at Salad beach near his hotel.
He later attended a Full Moon party with two women he met at the hotel.
Returning from the party, he check out of his room at 9am on Thursday, went to the police station to file a missing persons report.

As Sancho seen was being escorted to court by police, he told the gathered local press: ‘I am so sorry this happened. So sorry’

General Surapong Methanol points out that ‘Investigators found traces of the victim’s body in the hotel room the suspect booked.’
Koh Pha Ngan’s police chief Panya Niratimanon, said ‘He admitted it,’ adding that ‘The victim and the suspect knew each other before they came to Thailand, and his dubious activities indicate that he might murder the victim,’ Panya said.
On Sunday, Sancho traveled with police to seven sites, including a beach where he is accused of dumping plastic bags containing body parts of Arrieta’s body. Thai police said the investigation is ongoing as authorities continue the search for the rest of Arrieta’s remains.
Sancho, 29, is charged with premeditated murder and concealing and removing body parts to cover up the death or the cause of death of the victim, Saranyu said.

The suspect is a social media influencer and the scion of a media family. His actor father Rodolfo Sancho Aguirre, starred in El Ministerio del Tempo, while his mother Silvia Bronchalo is also a well known Spanish actress.
Thai paper Bangkokpost reports that garbage disposal crews on Thursday discovered body parts, including a pelvis and intestines, inside a sack at a garbage dump on the island. More body parts were found in a black plastic bag containing two legs, a black T-shirt, a pair of shorts and a pair of boxer shorts, at the same location, a day later.

Arrieta’s family claim the pair he had been in a relationship for more than one year before they went to Koh Phangan to attend a Full Moon party.
When Arrieta’s relatives were unable to contact him, they contacted Sancho, who claimed he hadn’t seen his boyfriend.
The suspect’s  family released a statement on Sunday asking for ‘maximum respect, both for Daniel Sancho himself and for the whole family, in these delicate moments of maximum confusion’.
