A ranch owner man allegedly beat his wife’s lover, a ranch hand, to death in a fit of vengeance and then wrapped the man’s body in plastic and hid the remains on his property, with the help of his cheating wife.

He attacked Romero, 32, after learning the latter was having an affair with his 42-year-old wife, Francisca Salazar Carrizales, according to Harris County police.
The crime was uncovered after Romero’s wife requested a welfare check on Saturday and authorities searched Banos’ property in Tomball, where they found a body inside a “detached structure.”
According to an abc13 report, Harris County sheriff’s deputies conducted a welfare check after Francisco Romero, was reported missing by his wife Ashley Gomez on Saturday. She allegedly told detectives Romero was last known to be at the suspects’ home on Ezekiel in north Harris County.

Cops found Romero wrapped in black plastic that was secured with electrical tape inside a building that was used as an office.
Cleaning products containing bleach and a mop bucket were also found nearby, ABC 13 reported.
Banos and his wife pulled up to their property and the husband told deputies, “I’m the one you’re looking for,” and confirmed it was Romero’s body.
Both Banos and Carrizales were charged with murder, aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence of a human corpse.

The slain man’s wife told police he called her to say he was going to spend the night at the home of his boss, Banos’, and go to work from there, but when he called, he sounded injured. When he didn’t pick up the phone again, she called Banos to question where he was.
Carrizales allegedly called Ashley Gomez telling that she needed to pick up her husband’s last paycheck, which appeared suspicious to the victim’s wife because they use direct deposit. Carrizales also told Gomez that she needed to pick up her husband’s truck.
Gomez said she had planned to get the truck on Monday after the couple said they would leave his keys inside. Officers found the keys at the crime scene.

Banos told officers that Romero was having an affair with his wife, Carrizales, so he pistol-whipped him. He then claimed that Romero left his property and he didn’t know where he was.
In a subsequent interview with police, Banos admitted to beating to beating Romero in the head, face and body multiple times with a rifle. Banos also allegedly asked his wife to grab a pistol from their house, and he then used that weapon’s butt to hit Romero.
Carrizales had inadvertently handed Banos a BB gun, which he also used to beat Romero, officials said. The beating was so hard, the gun broke and the BB’s fell out.
Banos also allegedly admitted to biting Romero on the arm, then detaining him.
Banos is also said to have told police that his wife was there during the alleged assaults, adding that while he told Romero to go, the man was too badly beaten to drive and asked to sleep on the property.

The couple had Romero call his wife, but after they still found him on their property, Banos restrained him with a strap and belt, and fed him SlimFast through a straw.
He and his wife wrapped Romero’s body in a black plastic bag and left him in a detached structure on their property while they ran errands. When they returned, he was dead, the couple claimed.
Authorities said there was blood evidence at the scene consistent with the events the couple described.
Charged with the killing, Carrizales’ bond was set at $500,000 while Banos’ bond was set at $600,000. He received a higher bond because he admitted to beating Romero with guns.
