Abused girl, 10, tells wicked stepmother ‘I hope you die’ as she was sentenced to jail following her conviction for child abuse and endangerment

Other victims she was guilty of abusing were another stepdaughter and two of her own children, one charge was for an assault on her 17-year-old son.

A 10-year-old victim of incredible domestic abuse expressed the depth of her hurt in court when she told her tormentor ‘I hope you die’ during sentencing.

Chavez, 35, lived in an Anaheim apartment with the girl’s father, Domingo Junior Flores, and his two daughters. Flores won custody of the girls after his divorce from their mother
The cruel measures by Chavez left the girl with a broken neck, a bone sticking out of an unhealed sore and bruises from head to toe as a result of her cruelty, according to complaint sheet filed by the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

She was convicted by a jury last month of one felony count of torture, two felony counts of child abuse and endangerment and one felony enhancement of causing great bodily injury. 
During the trial witnesses detailed the abuse the girl suffered including being forced to kneel on rice or tin cans with her hands and legs hogtied, having a habanero pepper rubbed in her eyes and vagina after being forced to bite into the spice.
In other forms of cruel and unusual torture, the 10-year-old was plunged face first into a bathtub full of ice while zip tied.

‘This methodical and diabolical torture of children was normalized in this household to the point these children thought it was their fault that they were being abused,’ said Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer.
‘The system failed this little girl. The system failed her siblings, ‘ he said.
‘We will get to the bottom of how this happened and what can be done to prevent another child from suffering the fate of what these children suffered at the hands of the very people who were supposed to protect them.’

Chavez was also convicted of abusing another stepdaughter and two of her own children, including assaulting her 17-year-old son.
She was sentenced to 7 years to life plus 7 years, 10 months for torturing her the 10-year-old and abusing the other children.

In August 2022, the girls father, Domingo Junior Flores, rushed the child to the hospital when she was unresponsive. He told police and the hospital staff that his frail daughter, who weighed just 50 pounds, had hurt herself by falling down the stairs.
Flores is awaiting trial on one felony count of torture, two felony counts of child abuse and endangerment, one misdemeanor count of felony child abuse and endangerment and one felony enhancement of causing great bodily injury. 
The girls father had gained full custody of his two oldest daughters after a lengthy custody battle, despite numerous court order violations being reported to authorities and multiple interactions with county social workers alleging abuse.
He has a pretrial hearing scheduled for November 20.

Chavez lived with Flores and his daughters a home in Anaheim, Calif. Cops had previously been called to conduct a welfare check on the 10-year-old who they did not see, because she was zip tied to the bed in one of the bedrooms during their check

In her victim impact statement, the girl’s mother described their lives now she is reunited with her daughters: ‘We sleep in soft beds with fluffy blankets surrounded by more pillows than we can count. We take warm baths – not baths filled with ice. We throw bath bombs.’ 
‘We frost cupcakes and have movie nights. We play in our backyard whenever we want to – and sit in the warmth of the sun. We’re making up for lost time. They not only survived; they triumphed.’
‘She was the personification of a whisper,’ the woman said of seeing her daughters abused body in the hospital.
‘You’re hearing all of these details and it’s gruesome. You don’t wish that upon anybody,’ the 10-year-old’s uncle Walter said.
