Female suspect was heard asking Hair if he was married or single, admitting she didn’t mind working the system, suspect bluntly said, “I’m down to f*** right now”

Vehicle’s GPS tracker shows that minutes later, Hair switched off his bodycam, cruiser slows to a crawl, turns down a dark side street and halts

20 minutes later, Hair radioed another officer requesting the master key for all patrol cars

That officer told IAB investigators, Hair was panicked as he confessed to being locked in the back of his patrol car with the suspect

Investigators tested Hair’s clothes for semen and found traces on his belt

Officer Anthony Hair, has resigned from the San Diego Police Dept. after he was caught locked in the backseat of his squad car with a female detainee.

A San Diego police officer has resigned as the breadcrumbs pointed in one direction after he accidentally locked himself in the back seat of his police cruiser with a female suspect after she propositioned him for sex last year. Newly released bodycam footage showed events of in the backseat of the patrol car on the night of August 14, 2023.
Officer Anthony Hair left his post about a month after a probe was launched into the incident and one day before he was to meet with investigators for his second scheduled interview.

The police investigators say Officer Hair failed to follow department procedure and broke the law when he falsified police reports.
The San Diego Police Department has released the embarrassing findings from its probe into Anthony Hair, who had been with the SDPD for two years, recorded himself in the vehicle with the female suspect after he arrested her on suspicion of stealing a car outside a convenience store, CBS 8 reports.

There was alleged intimacy between cop and detainee as Investigators tested Hair’s clothes for semen and found traces of it on his belt

The incident occurred in San Diego after Hair, after hair and other officers arrested two people on suspicion of car theft outside a convenience store last August

The recording shows that Hair had turned on his body camera as he took the female suspect to the local jail in San Diego.
The encounter and conversation between cop and suspect was captured on video.
The woman is heard probing whether officer Hair was married or single. She goes on to admit she wasn’t averse to working the system: “You’re not too bad. What’s it gonna hurt me if I work the system, you know what I mean? That’s the way I see s–t,” she told Hair.
“Are you single?” she added, to which he responded, “Yeah, but you’re not.”
“I’m down to f–k right now,” she told him.
Hair interrupts the detainee, “Don’t say that right now … Don’t say that right now because everything is being recorded right now.”

As the pair approach the detention center, Hair can be heard asking the female suspect what she is doing in the backseat.
After a few minutes, Hair switches off his body camera and the cruiser slows to a crawl as he turned down a dark side street, according to a GPS tracking system affixed to his vehicle
The vehicle comes to to a halt abruptly.
About 20 minutes later, Hair called for a fellow officer to help him out of the police car over the embarrassing mishap – requesting the master key for all patrol cars.
That officer later questioned by Internal Affairs investigators, recalls that Hair was panicked as he confessed to being locked in the back of his patrol car with the woman.
“I asked him if he was okay. He said yes, and then asked if I had my patrol car key with me … I asked why he was asking and what did he need.”
“Officer Hair then asked me if I could go meet him.”

“I asked him his location and he said, near Cottonwood … I asked him why he needed me, and he said he would tell me when I got there. He said he was really embarrassed.”
Hair told investigators that he believed the woman was suffering from a medical emergency, according to the report of the internal investigators.
Hair and the woman denied anything untoward happened, as the officer claimed he was “checking” on the suspect in the back.
A police supervisor responded and unlocked the car door. Hair claimed to Internal Affairs the door accidentally shut after he got into the back seat to check on the suspect. He also said his bodycam got knocked off his clip somehow as he emerged from his patrol car.
In a later taped interview after her release, the woman said Hair asked personal questions, for her phone number, and to meet when she was out of jail: “He wanted to get with me when I was done with the warrant or whatever I got arrested for,” said the woman.
The woman however, maintains the two never had sexual contact.
Investigators it was reported, saw through the pair’s lies when the test of Hair’s clothes found traces of semen on his belt.
Former officer Hair resigned shortly after, in September 2023.
